Laura_Elsewhere said:More spending for me - three pairs of leggings to be chopped off short, edged with lace and worn under my skirts - what do I class those as? Long-leg knickers? stockings? half a pair of pyjamas?!

Checking in with a spend. One of my make do and mends yesterday was a pair of PJ bottoms, but I don't have a spare top to go with them, so have ordered a hidden support vest with lace from M&S. Had 20% off so a spend of £8 and I'm putting 3 coupons down as 'corset and other garments'. It means I now have 3 sets to rotate, plus I have fabric to make another pair of PJ bottoms so should be good to go for the rest of the year. Total spend is now 37 coupons and £212. It means I am more than half-way through them after 2 months
. I may need to buy a coat, shoes, boots and bras so I reckon that will mean I will be spending a lot of time hunting in the charity shops this year - will be fun though.

@PipneyJane Oh but that takes all the fun out of it. I see it as a sort of raffle. I 'buy a ticket' with my bid and then leave and wait for a call telling me I've won LOL
I missed out on the space leggings.... never mind. I do now have a good few more watches going on including two little bomber style silk jackets and a pair of Aztec patch dungarees.... oh and a lovely Monki dress - Im really hopeful that one flies under most peoples radar.
Started on my fingerless mittens today, did one and actually wrote as I was going what I did so hopefully number 2 will turn out identical. A few people in my loomers group on FB have asked for the pattern, and a friend on FB itself has asked to order a pair if I'm willing so that's been a nice creative acknowledgement.
I have also tried my hand today at some polymer clay jewellery making.... I've made some marbled type tiles which might get made into earrings or necklace. I believe a friend of mine has some jewellery findings so I may ask her to make them up in a swap for something else to save me buying any fixings.

Finished the second fingerless mitten and DS has already pinched them citing 'Zelda vibes' so he's happy and I've ironed out the pattern so its all good.Wealth is not measured by currency4

I've ben busy - a year ago I knitted this slipover, which I love but the straps at the shoulders were much too wide - almost twice as wide as they should be, so they just kept falling off and didn't look right at all. I finally got round to picking up stitches where the straps should end, knitting new cream ribbing, and then reinforcing it before cutting off the excess and neatening it up with some velvet ribbon on the back.
The new cream ribbing is paler but only because it's not been worn and washed for a year - it'll even up...
This is it newly-knitted last year:
And here is one of the new, narrower (and paler-edged!) straps, with its velvet 1/4-inch ribbon visible on the back of the back (if you see what I mean!)
