  • For many years I used to drive barefoot because driving ruined the backs of my shoes (and yes, it is perfectly legal). I think that was in the days when I wore heels. Now I mostly wear boots or flat shoes, I don’t bother taking them off but if I’m wearing my best work black court shoes I always change them.
Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.
  • Another couple of coupons on sock wool - and another pair of ankle-socks started, in a kind of coral-paprika solid, and a self-striping in orange, cream, pink... very summery and cheerful!

I am also working out what I actually need this year. My thin cotton-mix grey poloneck, that is so useful as an underneath layer, is wearing thin all over because it was only ever a cheap shoddy one... so I shall look for another one, in better quality. I am tempted by the gorgeous vivid green one in M&S but I know that actually a mid-grey is more versatile, so... and I would like to buy a couple of pairs of leggings, to chop off above the knee and edge with crocheted wide lace to wear under skirts - and I think I would like to buy better quality ones that maybe won't wear out on the inner thigh quite as fast as the cheap ones I've been buying - I have a stack of those, about 7 or 8 pairs which have been patched and re-patched and I really would like nice undies that aren't patched, for heaven's sake! :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one trying to prolong shoes, I always feel a bit daft switching my shoes when I get somewhere lol.

I have a spend to report today, the TU sale got me! In money terms it was a steal! A spring coat - I'm calling it that because it's pale coloured check and unlined - half price then the 25% off, so a coat for only £14 something! But 14 coupons, which sounds such a lot! So I'm down to 52.

It actually got me twice, I also got some black jeans with cute little embroidered hearts but I was super sneaky and sold them to my mum to give me as a birthday gift as they are very 'snug' but the size bigger too big (I'm a tight skinny jean fan). So I have till May to get down a size!

I've decided to dedicate the rest of today to sorting out my wardrobe, putting the Christmas jumpers away :( and figuring out if I have any needs - 'allowed' purchases.  x
I hope you know your capable, & brave, & significant.
even when it feels like your not....
  • Got caught in the Tu sale too.  A lovely scarf - was £12, down to £6 in the sale and then another 25% off so £4.50.  I've already got one in a different colour and have meaning to buy some wool and knit another.  Pleased to get one ready made as I am so short of time and motivation at the moment, but I have promised myself to get the needles out again soon.
