Today's PADs done. Round down to the savings, and £1 to the mortgage. Still no sign of my car insurance payment coming out, hopefully that will be gone in the next day or so.
I got up early to get on with work, to try and clear as much as possible today. I've made a good start already!."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4 -

I've cashed out from PA and another survey site today, so £8 sent to the mortgage and change sent to the savings account. I've also done a few decent surveys on there today, so should have a bit to come when they are approved.
DH has a problem with one of his ebay sales not arriving. It was 3 items and fairly expensive. It was sent via global shipping and whilst it's got to the depot in the UK ok, it looks like they have completely messed up the delivery. Luckily for us, they will cover the loss, but it's frustrating for the buyer, and blooming annoying.
I managed to get a Tesco slot for after Christmas today. It's been hard to get one for a few weeks. I was awake at 1am for a while, so looked and managed to grab one. When I looked again at 5.45am they were all gone. There must be a lot of insomniacs out there!
DH is back home again as of tomorrow. It's been good that he's had a bit of work, and he may be back in for a day or two next week depending on how busy they are. I guess if they tighten up restrictions everywhere tomorrow there may not be much chance of that! It will be nice if we get to spend the Christmas holidays together as he doesn't normally get any time off. A small bonus. We are spending Christmas alone this year. The relative that normally comes to us doesn't follow the guidelines, so I'm not prepared to take the risk. I think it will be nice to just have a quiet one with no pressure."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I did my PADs again this morning
My car insurance payment has finally come out too, thankfully!
I cashed out again from PA today so I think I will send most of that to the savings account and £1 to the mortgage. Some more surveys have been approved so I can cash out again tomorrow
I finished one of the things I was worrying about today at work, so I'm pleased about that. Tomorrow I need to have a full on day to get everything else done as Friday is pretty much back-to-back meetings so I don't want anything left over to deal with.
The kids have got their Christmas parties at school tomorrow and they are looking forward to that. Then that will be them on holiday"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5 -
I'm on leave now for two weeks, what a relief!
I've had a really full on couple of days. Thursday night I couldn't sleep and was wide awake from 2am. At 4am I gave up and started work! I worked right through til 4.30pm But I have achieved nearly everything I wanted to, so can relax now. I was shattered last night!
Little jwil has swimming today and little miss tomorrow. Apart from that I don't plan on doing much this weekend. I want to make sure everything is tidy and clean by Wednesday so that we can just chill. Wednesday is the day we pick up the turkey so can get any last minute bits then.
I've been doing my PADs and cashed out another twice on PA so will send that money to the mortgage and savings. I've also sold the last item I had listed on eBay so that's another couple of £s to the pot.
I've got some stuff to list for DH this weekend, and then all of our relists will go back up again this weekend hoping to get some sales while people are off over Christmas.
In amongst the busyness yesterday I did manage to make some cookies with the kids. They are about to decorate them today. We haven't watched any Christmas films yet this year, so will maybe stick one on today. Looking forward to Strictly tonight.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5 -
I had a burst of enthusiasm so I've been upstairs tidying, cleaning the bathroom, cleaning the windows and hoovering. My house is such a dust trap! It's never ending. It must be all the stuff
I should also hoover more regularly which might reduce the quantity somewhat! 🙄
It looks much better up there anyway. I've got a big pile of clothes to sort and donate, mostly the kids, as I know certain things which are outgrown are being replaced by Father Christmas! I might aim to sort through my photos this holiday. I've got a huge pile of photo albums which I've emptied and kept for once I've sorted out the pictures. I'm also going to attempt a scrapbook with some of my old travel bits (I've only been planning this for 20 odd years 😆, so it's about time I got round to it). I've bought the scrapbook stuff recently, so will give it a go. I'm not very creative so it could be a disaster! Once I've sorted the photos I should be able to get rid of some of the albums.
