Ugh sorting out the kids clothes. At least it becomes less frequent the older they get. I need to sort out kids shoes. I am struggling though without being able to pass things on. Don't like to bin it but the bags of sorted through things does get a bit much.
I agree that more stuff does seem to mean more dust. Defies logic but there you are. It is a good time for a household cull.
Glad to see your PAD energy returning and I definitely wouldn't have any concerns regarding your mortgage. You've been brave and its paid off all these years with a very low rate xxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000
Loan 2 £300/£5800
Total £5500/£138004 -

When we first got the mortgage we were paying 5% or more, and we're earning more now, so I'm comfortable we can handle the varyiable payments at the moment, and when I look at deals, we'd be adding an extra £1k or so in fees, for not that much of a lower rate. I'm happy for now with it and loving the very low rates!beanielou said:Enjoy your break"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". DH took the kids to the beach today and they met up with their Uncle. They had lots of fun, and luckily it stayed dry for them. I had a few hours to myself which was lovely
I just pottered about and watched a bit of tv. I watched White Christmas today - I've never seen it before!
I had a doorstep visit from a friend who was dropping off some pressies. That was nice too.
I'm sorry for everyone who's had their Christmas plans disrupted, it must be so hard. I don't envy the government having to deal with this situation but they do seem to be winging it a bit. Everything always seems to be done at the last minute after weeks of warnings! It's just so unfair on everyone!
DH has heard from his work today saying he won't be back before Christmas, and who knows when after. We'll enjoy the fact that we get to spend the time all together for a change.
Little miss had her swimming lesson this morning. They are on two weeks break now. I do wonder if they will be going back in January!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee7 -
We were in Tesco before 7am this morning, and have been to the farm shop to collect our joint, so that's us all done now!
I am about to tidy around, hoover, clean the bathroom and kitchen and then just chill
It's been so nice having a relaxed few days off, we haven't been doing a lot. I do have some listings I want to do for DH but that hopefully won't take too long. We have some bids on the relists, so that's all good too
I have been continuing with my PADs as well. So far this month, that's £28 to the mortgage that I wouldn't have paid otherwise, and I haven't noticed it trickling out. It soon adds up! The savings account is just getting the pennies, so not going up as quickly, but that's still increasing too.
Hope everyone is well"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee5 -
Well done on getting your all your shopping done and having time to do nothing. PADs to mortgage look impressive.
I'm spending the whole of the holiday season on my own. My choice but friends and neighbours have rallied round and made sure I have plenty of Christmas goodies. My ex next door neighbour is bringing me Christmas dinner. The help and generosity I've received since August has been overwhelming. More importantly it's allowed me to self isolate and keep infection free.
Hope you and all the jwils have a good and peaceful Christmas and that 2021 is an even better year 🎄🎄6 -

Happy Christmas eve everyone! I have two very excited children here.
We are heading out this morning for a walk and to feed the ducks. It's meant to be a lovely sunny day today. Hopefully that will burn off some excess energy.
We are in Tier 3 as of Boxing day. Not a surprise really. It means we won't be able to do our traditional New Year's Day visit to Exmouth, but we can still visit the coast here, so it's not a big deal, it's just a nice way to start the new year. That will likely mean that DH is off as long as we are in this tier at least.
So sorry if anyone has been affected by flooding. What a blooming year this has been. I'm sure nearly everyone will be glad to see the back of it!
I've done my PADs for the day, and still have the listings to do. We are selling a few things so that's good."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3
