  • Morning all!

I finally took up my dress yesterday, after lots of faffing as I haven't set up or used a sewing machine for a good 12 years or so! It's not a professional job by any means but it's definitely wearable! I just need to pick up some black thread today and then I can take up my work trousers - they sit lower now that I've lost some weight and they were a little long before that so I need to just sort them out. My weekend project will be taking in the dress that my mum gave me :) any ideas for what I can do with two 30cm square ish bits of pretty leftover fabric? :) I was thinking of making some scrunchies if I can get hold of any elastic. I was pleased to finally get it done, I think I like to put things off in case I mess them up, which is normally an unfounded concern!

I finally have a bud that has appeared on my white rose bush plant that I ordered, so that makes me happy as I wasn't sure it was doing anything :joy: and more strawberries are appearing on the strawberry plant. I think that next year I will look to get a mini greenhouse and do things properly and in a more prepared manner.

When I get paid at the weekend, I forgot but I'm going to order some bedding plants to fill out some bits on our front garden where the grass never seems to grow, so going to dig all of that bit up so it is even and then plant in some bedding plants to hopefully cheer things up.

Not much else to report this morning, kitten has his second lot of vaccinations this afternoon and I want to try and get out for a long walk this evening :)

    Scrunchies are a good idea.

  • So, the list of set purchases for next month are:
    - Lawn feed (£11 Amazon but will shop around)
    - A clip-on rack to store baking trays in (£3.50 Wilko)

    - A 3 tier organiser for tins (£4.50 Wilko)
    - A telescopic stand cupboard organiser (£3.00 Wilko)

From the list above so far (as I keep messing up writing  under my own quote and I've been paid a day early)
    - Lawn feed: I actually spent £18 here BUT it's because the day after writing that post I looked and it had gone up to £15, but when I looked this morning it had gone down to £6, so I thought I would order a few. On the option to "multibuy" it still reflected the old prices so 2 was £18, 3 over £30, but adding them one by one I got three for £18
    - Clip-on racks: actually spotted a 2 pack for £5 in Wilko so picked those up instead

  • Hi everyone! Had a pleasantly productive weekend :)

Yesterday we went and collected a dining table & 4 chairs for the bargain price of £30 from a cafe that had to close so now we can actually all eat dinner together. I borrowed a sander from my uncle and spent yesterday afternoon sanding down the bits that needed doing and then redid the colour on the table, it looks so much better! I did however get massively sunburnt on my back from the time spent sanding :joy: this was then followed by planting out my bedding plants with SC2 in the evening, though I do go and get some more today as more are needed than I thought to fill the gaps out the front. Lawn feed was sprayed onto the front and back grass on Saturday, and some grass seed got put down last night once I'd finished planting the flowers. Busy busy!

SC's went back to their mum today, so the house will be very quiet, albeit tidy! Did a face mask with SC2 as requested by her, and got their fathers day cards written and presents wrapped so it's all ready regardless of when they next come to us.

Really, really not in the mood for work today, but not too much longer to go. My get up and go has got up and gone, although I did manage to leave earlier as planned to account for any extra traffic. I want to plant out the rest of my flowers once it has cooled down this evening, then just chill out.

This month I'll get my lowest SE wage ever but things seem to be picking up over the last few days, so fingers crossed :)

  • Definitely beanie and holmes!

We moved the new chair and tables indoors, the other one sold for enough for us to get a £30 profit including all materials and cushions for the chairs, kitten spend a good amount of time investigating the new furniture

I planted out the rest of the geraniums I picked up yesterday, so the front garden is looking much better, and will look wonderful once we get some new grass growing.

I did as much SE work as I could get my hands on yesterday, hopefully today will be as productive.

Forgot to say I lost another 1lb on weigh day yesterday, so that's half a stone down, about another 10lbs ish to go.

Hoping for a relatively smooth and quick work day today, lunchtime will be grocery shopping for my nan, so fingers crossed the shop is also relatively quiet, too.
  • Just popping on to kill the last few minutes before I can sneak out of work.

The job I was waiting to go to the assessment centre for until the pandemic hit has rebooked it for next Thursday :hushed: not much notice but my boss has been extremely helpful and arranged cover for me so that I can go.

Car garage has not responded to my email about the car repairs and it will be one week tomorrow so I plan to copy the email into a letter and send it to them.

Had hoped for a NSD today but I may have gotten some new toys for Mr Kitten whilst getting some shopping for my nan :joy:

Making the most of the spendy day and will walk down to Asda tonight to pick up some fabric conditioner that I couldn't get in the shops near work, and may see if they have a cheap rotating sprinkler as well to make watering the garden a bit less of a chore. Also hoping to be able to do some SE work this evening whilst OH is on the PlayStation :) it turns out one of the people he has met online literally lives five minutes up the road from us! Small world.........
