It's equally dismissive to assume a sign will make any significant difference either, and it is a significant difference the OP is hoping for.
The incidents have occurred due to the driver's ignorance of the road condition ahead.
Nobody has said any such thing.
The only person who can provide the reason for the accident is the driver. Given that they made a swift exit one can assume they didnt wish to empart such wisdom on the local community or constabulary.0 -
First step, ready for next time, get your own CCTV and make sure it's operational. You can get srlf contained cameras ftom Ebay for about £30 which are more than capable of monitoring this sort of scenario.
Also, push the police. The driver's committed at least one offence of fsiling to stop. Given that offence carries macimums of £5k fine, 6 months prison, and 5 - 10 points, with discretionary disqualification, those who make the lae clearly consider it a serioud offence.
It's not a civil matter, it's not an insurance matter, it's a crime. And that's what they're there to deal with.
Of course, they may not be able to catch the culprit but that doesn't absolve them from trying, at least to the extent that the victim (you) doesn't feel that they're "not interested".0 -

And, of course, even if they do - doesn't get the OP's car fixed, does it?0 -
Have the council/local authority properly looked at the camber of the road? That was the issue at my grandmother's house when cars used to leave the road after the bend and demolish her front wall. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
For what it is worth, we had a similar issue at our previous address. Road outside was narrow (residents parking on our side, limited stay parking on the other, which fronted a park) and on a bend and unfortunately, frequently used as a rat run. There were traffic lights at the far end and cars would proper race down the road to catch the light whilst still on green. Us residents tried everything to persuade LA to put speed bumps in but to no avail (they refused on basis road was used by emergency services- there was a local fire station not far away and they sometimes used road as a short cut due to a fiendish one way system). We did in the end obtain a 20mph speed limit but as just about everyone ignored it.... Sadly, I don't think anything will really happen until/unless a child is badly injured or worse (lots of children cross said road due to the park and a nearby primary school).0
