I will. It's available at the library so they must be transporting it to my library of choice as they haven't said it's ready yet. I will report back.
I think the soup I made yesterday will be more than 5-6 portions. I went to boil it up this morning and it was so thick I had to add water. I took my insulated coffee mug to work this morning with one portion in it and it hasn't even dented the pot. I'll transfer it into containers when I get home but I reckon 8 portions at least. It's the nicest soup I've ever made too so I'm absolutely delighted.
I managed to get away early from work so I should be home by 1.30pm. Already eaten lunch (soup, seriously don't need anything else) so I'll do a couple of chores in the house then I might have a wee rest since I've been good the last couple of days.
Financially:
- had to pick up some face wipes so I'll need to pay for them from the slush fund since the cash grocery budget is gone - £2.69
- a survey I did a week ago has finally been approved so that's 55p to the balance. It's at £1.40. There's another one pending for £1.25. Minimum £5 to pay out so I'm hoping I'll get some more soon.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

I got 7 decent sized portions of soup from the pot, including the one I took to work so not quite 8 but more than 5-6
I am just waiting for LMG to get organised and then we're going to take some stuff to the charity shop which has been lying in the hall for months. When we are there I'm going to ask them if they'll pick up a foldable dining table, fold away chairs and an arm chair which I just don't have room for. I've been too lazy to do any of this up to now so I'm feeling good today.
We need laundry liquid which I forgot about earlier so will be taking a trip to Lidl when we are out.
The council tax account has been amended and is now correct. I made the payment on Friday so just waiting for that to show then I'm square with them again.
I was expecting the first of the three credit card bills today but there's no sign of it so far, so that will probably appear tomorrow now. The money is there ready for it. The second one should arrive 23rd-24th and the money is there for that too. The third usually arrives on 25th. I'm £21 short for that but I get LMG's digs on a Friday and that will cover it.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

as ever, i follow diaries and de lurk when i have something to add.
mainly coz i'm a techy!
noticed a lot talk about recipes and photos of, well theres a site, with an app and toolbar tools called evernote, you can add notes and pics to it etc, and tag them with labels, so eg recipes, then further down into more if you wanted. i use it to keep track of websites i visit or nuggets of info rather than have it cluttered up space, as its online, then any web device can access it.
eg ill see a site on desktop, save it and then read it on phone later etc.
also a great feature for say a recipe is it can do OCR (optical character recognition). fancy way of saying you take a photo of a wordy document - like a recipe and it will convert that text from the photo into actual text, so you can then edit or or copy paste it etc.
i have taken photos of how to guides for car things, and then had it be converted to text so i can send off to a mate etc.
hope that helps.2 -

There is a lot of truth in what you say and for the most part I agree, however, I have used that as an excuse when I have been feeling fine too. I can see the charity shop from the end of my street to drop the stuff off and I could have picked up the phone weeks ago for them to collect the big stuff. On the other hand, maybe I should have 'suggested' that LMG take it over. I'm so used to doing things myself I forget to ask for helpas ever, i follow diaries and de lurk when i have something to add.

Oooh!! That's really interesting! Thank you for saying. I'll have a look at that at some point. That sounds like a really handy tool. I have recipes all over the place (as we have established) and I do bookmark ones to go back to later. Thank you.
savingholmes I have reserved SUMO at the library. Someone has it out at the moment but I'm next in the queue to get it, thank you again.
LMG and I went to the charity shop and dropped off three bags. I spoke to them about the table and chair. I'll call tomorrow to get someone to collect.
Went to Lidl and got laundry liquid and softener, deodorant and wet wipes. It came to just over £7. I only had £6 left in the slush fund so I've transferred that to the cc account and I'll transfer £23 when I get LMG's digs.
I've got my besties coming for fizz and nibbles on Saturday night as I missed our Christmas night out due to being ill. I still need to get said fizz and nibbles so I will definitely have blown the budget this month. I'll get what I can from Asda with the Asda card but there will be more, plus food for next week.
I'm not overly concerned, yes it's not ideal but it's January. I'll pay it off come payday and New Me will be meal planning away and home cooking for February. I'm quite excited about February for this reason.
I have about £15 extra in the credit card account from my Tilly Tidies this month so that will go towards the excess. This means that I won't be able to put any more into the holding account this month but I more than met my target of £50 so I'm not beating myself up about it.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

I don't know that it would be suitable for drinking (unless desperation kicks in :rotfl:) but I'm sure it will be fine for cooking.
I hadn't heard of evernote. One of my friends who is coming on Saturday is a techy so I'll ask her about it for more infoMortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

I've heard others rave about evernote - but not used it myself. It sounds good though.
Hope you enjoy the books when they arrive.
I second what Beanie said - I have invisible health / MH conditions - and only have so much mental energy - even if my physical energy is okay. I read somewhere that clutter in our homes is a sign of decision fatigue - ie we can't make that one extra decision or action to resolve it so it sits there. Plenty of signs of that around my house too.
Well done for what you did get done - and despite me adding my voice to Beanie's - I also agree with your stance of choosing not to be a victim and not trying to make excuses....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

No definitely for cooking only, though I'm sure it wouldn't hurt in an emergency :rotfl:"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney2 -
I made Yorkshire puddings from scratch yesterday as a surprise for LMG, to go with our roast dinner. I've never made them before (think I mentioned this fact in an earlier post) so I wasn't sure how they would turn out. When it comes to cooking LMG is my biggest critic. Boyfriend will eat anything I cook and rave about how great it is (and genuinely mean it) but LMG will tell me honestly whether she likes it or not. She said the Yorkies were lovely and she was really impressed! Also that it was a brilliant surprise
Today I was home from work by 1.15pm. That is unheard of so I'm very pleased. I have decided to rest this afternoon because I've been busy the past few days with my new found self-awareness. I have dishes to put away and my coffee/soup cup from lunch to wash but I'm not going to do anything else. I might fold some washing that needs put away but I'm not going to pressure myself into it. I need to remember that my chronic health stuff has not gone away and regular rests are an ongoing part of that. If I burn myself out with my overexcited-ness it will hit me harder. I think it's fair to rest midweek. I have put in for a flexi day next Wednesday so I might continue with the midweek theme.
Financially:
- first cc bill of the year is in today. Paid that this morning, circa £86.
- survey for £1.25 was approved earlier so I'm up to £2.65 in the survey account. Got one for 86p pending at the moment. £5 before payout so £1.69 in surveys to find and do.
- council tax account has updated so I now owe them £0 for the rest of this tax year :jMortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
