    Well, I did think about reporting the figures in terms of assets and liabilities, but then I thought I'd have to include equity if it was a true reporting of assets and that would be cheating as it would put me in the black! This way works for me, as if I focus every effort on one target then the results happen quicker than limping along on several at once. That keeps me motivated then and it works with my obsessive nature, then I can turn my attention to the next target. So credit card first, then mortgage, then pension/ISA

    I think you can and often should report NW without including your home unless moving and releasing some of the equity is part of the plan. But I totally understand the ‘throw everything at one thing’ approach - these people who split money between three pots confuse me - it must take so much longer to get anywhere!
