Yes, definitely. I feel quite positive this morning (consequence of it being the weekend too, I think) 😀
Spent a lot of the last 24h re-reading ATB/ASB's diary and I think this has contributed to the positivity - it can be done, if you just stay focused!
Also been plotting what to do once the transfer hits my account tomorrow. Think I will pay the mortgage down until the savings balance gets to £10k and then just hold it there until each payday starts the cycle again, while popping £420 into the pot each month to clear the card. Was going to say "All things remaining equal" then, but I re-read my first post last night and I'd misguidedly used it there - 4 months on, and all things have NOT remained equal 😂!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Have given the kitchen a good clean this morning. Note to self: It doesn't look grimy because it's old and minging - it looks grimy because you don't give it a good clean often enough because you think it's old and minging! Actually, it comes up quite nicely if you give it a good scrub, despite being ancient - same as the bathroom! On that note, I have also cleaned the bathroom. If I can get into a proper routine of cleaning a kitchen and bathroom that I hate over the next couple of years, then hopefully it will be a joy to maintain the habit once they're both replaced. No more excuses, you ARE home enough!
Now off to re-read julicorn's diary for more motivation - she has paid off my whole starting mortgage in 2 years 😀Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Congratulations on doing two of the hardest but most rewarding lots of cleaning! Hopefully now you've done a deep clean they'll be easier to keep clean. I've certainly found that now I'm home more, if I make the effort to wipe down the shower straight after using it I don't have the same problem with hard water marks as I do when I just leave it ...6

Thank you both! I've also moved around all the stuff on the kitchen surfaces and gained loads more worktop space - can't believe I've had it so badly laid-out for so long 😡! And I've finished going back through julicorn's diary again, feeling a bit square-eyed now though....Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

It only just has! The £700 I sent on Friday was the first OP I've made since the start of the mortgage year, so 3 more of those and then it's on to ERC's. Again, not the best financial sense overall, but £3 in every £100 in exchange for the satisfaction of seeing the mortgage actually reduce instead of just inching down for the next year seems reasonable to meMortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Not been feeling the love today, seem to be a bit over-sensitive and letting work stuff get to me. Had to go and hide in the toilet for a breather at one point - never thought I'd have to do that in my own home!
On the plus side, the money has arrived and it's very exciting seeing it sitting there in my savings account. Now to resist the temptation to pay the whole lot off this dratted mortgage so I can move on to the next stage 😦Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
