Thanks Jessy, I'm not a great sleeper most of the time TBH, but it had been a bit better the last few weeks since I'm not "going" to work. I'm normally OK getting off to sleep (and usually struggle to stay awake), but then wake up in the night and feel wide awake and the randomest thoughts get stuck in my head. Last night (despite trying very hard not to) my brain fixated for ages on trying to remember the name of someone I came across very fleetingly through my old job as our two businesses had done some work together. That was about 8 or 9 years ago and was in no way something I needed to know - especially not right then! Sadly, I did eventually remember it 😡
The good news is, it's never usually two nights in a row, as I'm too tired by the second day. It might alternate between sleeping/not sleeping for a couple of nights, but hopefully not!

I'm alive! Took a few minutes to drop off, was awake for about 15 minutes in the night and then woke up around 6-ish, but I'll take that!
Work today and then I'm off for the weekend. These 4-day weeks are exhausting 😂! My look up the value of my mileage claim for some motivation if I find myself flagging later.

Glad you got a better night’s sleep SC. That’s exactly the same issue I have - rarely the initial falling asleep but the waking up and not getting back to sleep because of stupid brain! So frustrating!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Glad you got a better night's sleep, SC! It is ridiculous the random things you suddenly think of in the middle of the night that stop you going back to sleep. Never a way to make millions of pounds though is it?! 😂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Am deeply distressed about Oasis and Warehouse going into administration (first-world problems, I know). Between them, they account for about 85% of my wardrobe 😯

Ooh, just remembered I forgot to report on the real win of the week. BF rang me yesterday afternoon to see if I wanted anything from Sainsbury's. I asked for pizza and bread (Lidl ones are no substitute). He turned up later with....two pizzas, a loaf of bread, and....nothing else! Result 😀! And that's without me giving him specific instructions about not going "off list" (I did wince as he was rummaging around in the car boot, as I suddenly remembered I hadn't mentioned that he must stick to the list, but it turned out all was well!) Hurrah!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
