Thanks greenbee, that's the very-far-up-my-sleeve plan! With the OP's I've made so far, I could probably not pay for a few years! Shame the mortgage isn't my biggest monthly outgoing - *ahem* that's my car....by some margin....Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Ouch to the car!! Good that you are in a position to save. Good also that you are following social distancing rules with your OH. Must be really hard though.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

It must be hard not seeing BF, SC. I hope things go back to 'normal' soon so you can spend some quality time together. I'm sure we're all going to appreciate our family and friend time so much more when this is over.
I too am missing not over paying. I have nearly £500 saved from this month and I'm itching to send it to my mortgage instead having it sat in a savings account earning diddly squat interest but I know I must be sensibleMortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

I am bored of being sensible and it's only been 10 days since payday 😢! If this is just a temporary blip then it shouldn't be allowed to derail my long-term plans 😦 As you can tell, I'm still sulking about it!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Really good day today, got loads of work done and actually feel like I have made some tangible progress and am happily settled into my working from home routine now. Helped no end this afternoon by 80's music on shuffle 😀 Hope the neighbours can't hear me signing along 😂

Yeah, I just need to get better at remembering when I have/have not got the windows open....!
BF has just brought me some shopping as I asked him to pick up some bits from Sainsbury's that I can't get from Lidl. He has supplemented with a few of his own colourful additions - £45! That man is hilarious! I now have £2.10 in my grocery budget (which was increased by 50% this month to allow for him doing some shopping 😂). Fortunately there's still £50 in the petrol pot that I'm unlikely to need and can draw on, so it's more of a learning curve than a disaster.
In the interests of balance, he did get a couple of additional bits at his cost, including a lovely-looking Easter egg 😍 and he chose a good birthday card for my niece, so he is forgiven ❤ Guess they must be right about absence making the heart grow fonder....

Haha bless him!! Have you told him you have a budget and that he's ruining it? Lol! My BF went to the shop for us today and didn't get me an Easter Egg, I am most disgusted with him right now! 😂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Ouch to no egg! We don't normally do chocolate at Easter, I thought BF was still smarting from the time he gave me a bunch of flowers for Easter and I was so astonished he didn't really get the grateful reaction he was expecting (in my defence, it was the first time he had ever bought me flowers), but obviously his memory isn't as long as I thought 😂!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Glad you got food delivered - and an Easter egg. Did you wave through the window or talk socially distanced?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
