It appears this is a lesson I am re-learning in December 🙄 I love red wine (😍), but boy does it wreak havoc with my sleep 😱! I want to wake up full of energy on my days off, not grudgingly meet the day with an air of foreboding because I've been awake in the small hours with my brain racing around all sorts of random subjects and now I'm not actually sure if I'm asleep or awake

So I have poured the rest of the bottle away....

Now need to try and remember this....

I’m having the same issue with red wine. This week has been busy, exhausting and involved late finishes. Collapsing on the sofa with a glass of red does me no good. I need a better strategy (yogurt and fruit followed by a bath?) before I collapse in a heap.

Not sure yoghurt and fruit are going to feel as satisfying in the moment though 🤔??? That's the problem, it's nice at the time, just not a few hours later!

Right, no alcohol at all yesterday and I've not long woken up. I was awake for a while in the night, but I was thinking about something important which is happening tomorrow - not a school trip I went on in 1994 (and equally pressing issues 🤦‍♀️). I'll take that as a win!

This describes me every day but without any alcohol!

Me too, @bubblycrazy. Energy to meet the day is so rare here - life seems so much easier when it happens!

Another one who struggles with energy at the best of times so good for you for seeing that the red wine wasn't helping you in the long run.  Hot chocolate's usually help take the edge off after a stressful or long day but not sure the sugar content is any better really 😏

No, sadly I've given up hot chocolate as part of my anti-sugar purge this year 🙄 I'm backing myself into a corner on all sides 🤦‍♀️!

I'm drinking the non-alcoholic gin that's been in the cupboard for ages and is well based it''s BBE date. It makes the tonic taste more interesting. And feels like a 'proper' drink. Plus there's no pressure to finish the bottle to avoid waste. I have a feeling it's also 0 calories.

Ooh, that sounds interesting! By contrast, I am at BF's and he has poured me a glass of red wine 🤦‍♀️ In my defence, it is the loveliest red wine ever, and he would have just left it to go off (he refuses to accept you can only keep a bottle open for a few days before it goes bad, and instead insists that's just me angling to drink more wine), so I guess that's worth losing a bit of sleep over 🤔🤣🤷‍♀️?
