Just checked my ISA and was surprised it was still exactly the same value. Then realised I needed to actually invest it in something and in the meantime it was just sitting there in a holding account in my name 🤦♀️
Have now chosen funds and requested purchase 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Dreadful weather this morning - typical, after being indoors all week through a heatwave we now have a tempest for the weekend 🙁 Not brave enough for a walk this morning, so l guess I'll batch-cook some more lunches 🥱Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

It's easy to make that mistake SC, it only took a little while for you to learn of your mistake. However I do recommend limiting yourself in terms of how much you look at your investment. When I first started I was compulsively looking and it was just an emotional rollercoaster. Or maybe you are just more sensible than me!
I haven't been to the sea since December 2019. I also am about 2 or so hours from the sea. It was Brighton and I played the 2p machines. Do you have one of those arcades near you SC?3 -
We do indeed, KP! There is a big one at the bottom of my hill 😀
Don't worry, I won't be checking the ISA continuously. I was still at the point of being excited that it was in the right place, hence a little cheeky check-in. The 1st of the month is the main day, as that's when I tot up my "money needed" figure (one less to check now too, as I only have 3 pensions and not 4 any more) 👍Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Oooh excited to watch your ISA experience.
glad you got it all worked out! 3 -
I only check my ISA once a month to double check that the order has gone through for the investment and to update the spreadsheet with the current value. The number needed still looks very far away but hey ho 🙃Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20172

Thanks for the reminder - I did purchase one fund in the first month, but meant to go back and do another couple more in May/June. I've just done another. Maybe I'll get them all done by the time this year's money goes in!South_coast said:Just checked my ISA and was surprised it was still exactly the same value.
