I'd definitely take 'not coughing up blood' as a good sign!
Yes, definitely lots of pent up-ness being released on that thread - I love it, and it's made me have a right overhaul and inspection of our plans (which have led to no dramatic action at all, sadly!)
Doing something towards the future is always good!

Coughing up blood is so uncool, don't be lame @SouthCoast :P
@Cheery_Daff I find small incremental changes are more sustainable than one massive shift!3 -
Yep, I like the "every £1 you don't spend now reduces enough by £25" mindset 👍
*Ahem* although I have today raided the EF and 2021 holidays pots and paid another £900 off the mortgage 😀😀😀 I figured my chances of an international holiday this year are very slim (which BF confirmed 🤣) and the EF was looking a little high for what I need in a MF world (getting slightly ahead of myself there, but no apologies!)Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Oooh thanks for pointing me to the FIREside Chats thread, definitely need to delve into that a little more this evening. Agree that an international holiday is definitely off the cards this year too, but still topping up the holiday fund so we can have ALL the international travel next year!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20174

I'll just be glad to go on my two UK trips which have been re-booked from last year 🤣!
Having a good financial admin day today. First day of the new tax year, so I've transferred the £4k I had primed and ready for the LISA. I've also opened an account with Vanguard and applied to switch my S&S ISA over (of course it transpires that my existing provider don't do electronic transfers, so now I have to print off a form and post it - Virgin Money, I am naming and shaming you 🙄!) Finally, I've had confirmation that my request to reduce the mileage on my car has been accepted, which will save me £270 between next month and March.
Now, what can I achieve tomorrow....🤔🤣Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

I also feel like I did something 'worthy' today.i realised that whilst I was all eyes on the prize for reducing the mortgage, my savings aren't really increasing. So I set up £100 to go to my Vanguard every month on pay day. As if to reinforce this, I've seen on 3 different forums the mantra 'pay bills, save, then spend'. Think the universe is trying to tell me something!Mortgage start date Dec 2019 - £217,000 MFD Dec 2034
