Loving all this FIRE talk 😁 Not sure what I'm aiming for - having done several shop/factory/hospitality jobs in my youth I'd definitely rather stay in my current job a bit longer than go back to any of them 😮🙄
Looks like I'm the odd one out, being born in April, not March 😁3 -
Nothing to be ashamed of there Cheery - after all, your current role is bound to be much better financially! My plan is not to have to work at all, but if dropping back to something part-time was an option then I'd definitely consider it, especially if it was just to make sure I've got enough years of NI contributions for the full state pension 👍
And your parents must just have been waiting for the warmer weather before getting frisky 😀Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

I figure that I could downsize to a nice park home near where I live, also living on the SC means my house is hugely overpriced, so could happily use the equity to fund a few years of retirement. It does mean you spend hours on rightmove looking ar park homes to see if they allow pets though!

I've just been screened out of a survey for not having taken a flight since April 2020 - surely that doesn't put me in the minority 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️?Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

What kind of freak of nature are you? NOT flying!
(never been on a plane myself)

Flying is super-boring (well I think so anyway), but the places they take you to are nice 😀Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

I’m quite liking 1poll. You do get screened out more but I’m sure there are more higher paying and the pennies are building up quite quickly. Reminds me, I’m still waiting for payout from them to hit the account.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Yep, I'm back up to £10.25 on there already, but they do drive me crackers!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Suppose I should better post an update so you know I'm still here - I've been spamming everyone else's diaries but not had anything useful to say about myself. Not sure I have now to be honest 🤔!
Birthday was a bit pants. I worked on the day for the first time ever, but as I'd be spending the day at home on my own regardless I thought I might as well save the day of holiday! Still, I should be able to see my family in 2 months (!), plus turning 38 was never likely to be a particularly gripping calendar event anyway 🤣!
Free money going slowly (I know I always say that, but it is!). Just tipped over the £30 mark for the month, so about £8 behind where I should be at this point, with none of the usual suspects for higher amounts due to pay out in March.
Mortgage ticking along, no chance for any ta-da there until the end of the month, but that's when my OP allowance resets so I'll be able to pay off the 10% I've got set aside, plus whatever is spare from my salary so it could be a reasonable month!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Hi SC
Sounds like the end of the month will be exciting! Sorry to hear about your slightly washout birthdayI know what you mean though. It was my 40th last year and it was really rather rubbish
Hoping for something slightly better this year (it's the end of April) but I've given up on the idea of a substitute 40th at any point!
Good work on the free money, well done!
