Feeling very sorry for myself today. I used to be in charge of a team, dealing with all the high-profile (and most cheesed-off) clients, now it's calls from the jobcentre and out of date eggs for breakfast 😐 (they passed the water test)
To cheer myself up, I treated my car (and myself really) to a trip to the car wash. Really can't remember the last time it was done, definitely before lockdown started - and possibly not since it was last serviced in December 😮 £4 very well spent. Now I just need to motivate myself to do the inside (definitely not been done since December)!
Right, positives....
* My job was making me ill (not sleeping/drinking far too much/constantly teary) and I'm not in that environment any more
* The man from the jobcentre was lovely again
* There are a couple of jobs I want to re-read and then probably apply for
* I didn't have to throw the eggs away (although there is still one left 🤔)
* I've now used all the pancake mixes that BF bought when he was shopping for me at the height of the shortages and I wanted to make a toad in the hole
(BF: "I had to get these, that's all they had"
Me: "Babe, these are for American pancakes, sugary ones....")
* I've now learned how to make batter mix properly - no more packet mixes required!
* BF had some maple syrup I pinched and added to sliced banana to have the whole American pancake experience
* Diets start on, er....Tuesday 🤣?
* Car looks great 😀
* Nectar points meant my Sainsbury's shopping cost me 10p

Lots of positives there SC, chin up! It's not easy, I know. At least JC man is nice and not telling you to get a job in a supermarket yet (and no disrespect intended to supermarket workers, just that I don't think that's what SC did before!).
Eggs will be fine as long as you test them - it sounds like they're not long OOD. As long as they past the test they'll be fine - I've used ones at least a month over before now.
That's some impressive shopping!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

10p ninja shopping!
You're doing brilliantly.
Don't forget to add yourself to that list of positives (after all you did make a pancake breakfast experience!) 😁If it's not adding up, compound it!7 -
Aw, thanks both ❤ Working in a supermarket is my dream job once the mortgage and refurb are out of the way, Vix (again, no disrespect, but it looks fun - I mean, I always use the self-checkouts). It just wouldn't pay quite enough at the moment, which is a shame as quite a few are recruiting round my way currently.
So I've spent most of the afternoon trying to have a snooze. I slept for a lot of hours last night, which is good, but I kept waking up after really vivid dreams, which is bad, so not really sure how restful it actually was. Odd dreams usually mean I've subconsciously got something on my mind (er, perhaps that I've not got a job 🤣!), but I suppose at least I'm getting back to sleep fairly swiftly afterwards and not lying awake all night. So 3+ hours wasted this pm not sleeping, which could have been spent applying for jobs, or at least trying to make some free money. Tomorrow will be better, I'm sure!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

South_coast said:Now, see if I had room for an exercise bike or treadmill at home, I would definitely use it (I mean, exercise AND Midsomer Murders, why wouldn't you???) That totally appeals to my indoor/lazy side.... But I just can't work out where I would store it, and I wouldn't want it in the middle of my lounge when it wasn't in use 🙁Choose kind7

It's my favourite programme ever (probably outing my true identity here, as I rave about it in real life too!) - it was a travesty it didn't rate higher on the Nation's Favourite Detective programme the other week - philistines 🙁
Not seen Murder She Wrote for a while, it used to be on every single day at one time or another - might see if I can track some episodes down 😀!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Whenever I watch Midsomer Murders, I spend the whole time thinking "he/she has been in something else... where do I know them from?". It annoys me all episode! Although to be fair it applies to most of the detective series on TV.2025 decluttering: 4,022 🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅🌟

I love a good murder mystery. But I love Midsomer Murders because of all the beautiful scenery, the architecture of the houses, and the villages. I know it must be tiresome to hear Americans say, "Oh, is it really like that?" But I truly haven't seen anything quite like some of those villages with cobblestone streets and beautiful cottages, gardens with gates or rod iron courtyards. It's stunningly beautiful.Mortgage start date Dec 2015 - $64,655.00
