Hi Mark - well done on your continued weight loss. My DH has appreciated me joining in a diet rather than leaving him to it too.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

thank you SH and DIA - yes it does help doing it together. Those not affected by the virus seem to be getting healthier - more exercise, better eating and losing weight. Interesting to see if that will last when the restrictions are liftedI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

I think all the 'blimp' type lockdown memes scared people into action. Plus its one of the few areas of life left for us to control.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Just a quick check in - down to 235 lbs now or -2 this week. OH has done very well after a flat start in the first week she is now down 5lbs - we suspect the scales are not that reliable.
Just ending the month £200 overdrawn - I forgot (very non MSE) my tax disc so that was £200 (snap!) I hadn't planned. Pay day on Monday so I can live with that. The bonus being because of Covid my bank is O/D Interest free up to £500 it didn't actually cost me any stupid tax this month
Hope you all have a great weekendI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

congrats to both of you on the weightloss. 5lb in first week often happens. Did for me. Glad you aren't having to pay stupid tax.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Reporting spends for the month 2020#005 - small OD troubles, partly cash flow, partly inattention. But was much happier month - especially given most OD charges will be absorbed by CoVid allowances. Anyway - here are the details
CAR - Slightly over budget - major service and annual tax discCASH - No cash (except for Gardener)CLOTHES - No New ClothesCOFFEE - One Coffee all month (emergency picking DD2 up from Uni)CRAFTS - In Budget just!ENTERTAINMENT - Nice Gin & Spotify - what can I say (plus free 2 bottles sanitiser)GROCERY - Wow. 6 adults in the house 3 on lo carb has been expensive - kind of balances the budget with lack of entertainment. Are working more with local delivery suppliers which supports local but is more expensive
HOLIDAY - Nothing spent, got my April holiday delayed until JulyKIDS - Bit high on kids - DS1 nearly back on his feet needed to help cover some outgoings, but DD1 needed new laptop and was her birthday so went halves to get her something a bit better than averageLIFE - Just focusing on making do, although paying for garden work was a luxury it was worth itAMAZON - Using Amazon more but still not going wildI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Totally agree on groceries. I'm trying to buy better quality protein, lots of fruit and veg and supporting local schemes too and it is definitely more expensive. Plus prices are higher and offers withdrawn in supermarkets. Ah well.
