decluttering the whole house - including as many stay at home kids as possible, and making the garden more of a venue than a chore.

    That should do!!
    love it!!

    382 workdays to R Day

My company are talking up the next year as everyone recovers from the Pandemic (it has been long in its impact, but although not gone its work impact is now marginal) so I have decided I will do full time for year or so at least until Dec 23.  That will leave about 80 days left which should get me to middle of 2024.  At least past Easter and possibly the May bank Holidays

Did enough steps over the week to keep my target at 2m.  I am thinking about rejoining the gym when the clocks go back - I mope somewhat when OH is watching the soaps in the evening - so hitting the treadmill would be better

Gym instead of moping sounds a good call.

Nice to have a clear date in mind for R.

373 days to go - I was toying with shaving some off just for the lols, but won't just yet.  Mybe at xmas

I am having a half term sea side break with some friends.   A rather more deserted beach than my normal Cornwall destinations, but the variety and beauty of beaches is worth it.  Our friends are retired and super organised and somewhat pity our busier still working lifestyles so they are hosting us and so far apart from making a coffee and pouring the wine have not had to do anything - which is nice if a little frustrating as its nice to help out.

@doingitanyway - I feel your pain with your previous hosts/hostesses

Managing 10000+ a day which will help me get to 2m - which is looking very achievable unless I completely slack off over winter

Payday at the end of the month - and enough left with a little to roll over to next month - or more likely put aside for Xmas coffers.  Kids mainly want cash and small stuff so that's fine by me.  I guess that's trickle down which (surprise surprise) I don't believe in otherwise

Just caught up, enjoy your holiday in the meantime but congratulations on your retirement plan and by the looks of it being ever closer to mortgage neutral too. Whilst your goals are different to mine I really admire how you are helping your children set up for their adult life without spoiling them but with support.

Recently I've had to come to terms with difficulties I've had in my own life and the impact that has on others; found a new drive to work towards giving my family, staff and tenants who depend on me in some way or another some security rather than a whole !!!!!! ticking timebomb heap of leveraged property and credit commitments. I also really admire that you've achieved giving your family security.
  • Love the decluttering comment :D

Thanks @doingitanyway - well, who else am I going to trickle it down to

Thanks @alt80 - sorry I haven't been on your thread recently, I kind of get overwhelmed by the volume and I don't know how you cope as its not always nice.  Even if some of your pain/troubles are self inflicted, you always struck me as having real internal strength and decency and are trying to do the right thing, especially for your family.  You will prevail.

Thanks @ohdearhowdidthathappen:smile: - the kids are welcome to stay but need to move on before too long

Thanks @savingholmes - the seaside is always a breath of fresh air

Not going to  fireworks display tonight - will stay in and look after the kitties - although they have been unimpressed for the few that have been let off early a full on barrage may be different
