Sound exciting to be heading towards FI. Look after yourself. You've had some tough challenges...
The wife given you any more DIY challenges or has that settled down for a bit now you've had various bits of work done?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Nice to have an end date for work in sight
All sounding very positive and nice to help out the kids to keep them moving forward.
I go to the hygienist twice a year... my parents both had a lot of trouble with their teeth and it made me ultra cautious. Same with opticians, screening etc. Prevention is better than cure etc, I'm trying to instill it in the children too. DH is more slapdash with his health, despite me nagging.DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

thank you SH - sadly most of my joy at the moment is schadenfreude (enjoying the misfortune of others) and looking at the latest Westminster opinion polls - which these days are much the same thingI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

LOL
I think there's a lot of schadenfreude going around. Love that word.

Another week done - much of a muchness - except 387 days to R-Day.
DD2 has had a cost of living one off bonus and with a little one off help from me, looks like she can clear her Uni debt and start trying to make some savings for the future. So that's nice of her work, but cost of living is for ever so a one off isn't going to help in the long run but a nice clear the decks sort of move. As I said before I have decided to help DS1 clear the last year of his loan quicker, but will do that by matching his OP partly for cash flow, but partly as it seems fairest of the options.
I had my 4th jab earlier this week and feeling a little worse for wear from it, so this week has seen my 4 week streak of increasing steps come to an end. But I clocked 1.5m - so unlikely to make my target of 3m steps, but 2m still very achievable, and like the saying 2 out of 3 aint badI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

ran my XLS for my monthly spends
without having done a lot more this month, clear to see costs edging up a little, and in some cases a lot. regular savers now seem to be at worse interest rate than general, but it is a frog too far to change for a few quid extra given the hassle. will wait until they expire in December then have a think about how much I want to keep to hand to smooth larger costs and how much I want to lock away.for a bit of extra interest.
we have two little extra kitten sisters/cost centres in the house, and very sweet they are if a bit bitey-er than I remember our original pair being - expecting some bills as they go through their kitten teenage years. Its lovely having them around.

Happy New Kittens!! How lovely. I am extremely jealous, but as I live on quite a busy road at times I cannot justify the danger. But I would love a furry bundle.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
