I know what you mean savingholmes,a normal shop for 5 adults and young adults looked a lot like panic buying, butwas just replenishing - freezer is fullish so am running slightly higher on stocks than normal but still only a weeks worth before we get old style.  It was like shopping before MSE - just taking what I could without really bothering to check the prices and with only a vague meal plan in mind as all plans were useless.  mostly staples were gone ie eggs, but milk and cheese in good supply.  prices seemed to have gone up and no special offers so this month's groceries bill will be high - already at £500 but did do a big shop on 29/2 that didn;t show up in my account until this month so not totally terrible

I agree food prices for some things definitely higher. Drinks are normally on offer around mother's day but were still full price. We have been able to get the food we needed which was lucky as we've had to self isolate already due to DH exposure to someone with the virus. Thankfully we all seem okay.

woke up early as I did my usual Friday night snooze.  Have done a quick whizz through the kitchen tidying as OH has plans to reorganise the cupboards / fridge / freezer to make sure we don't waste any of the food we have. generally we are pretty good, but every now and again events leave us with a dish we didn;t make and even though we are quite tolerant of sell by dates, sometimes its too risky!!

however, now that all events in the UK are pretty much cancelled we should be able to plan a bit better, and as I will try and WFH a bit more, I can do my share more easily - so currently reading through a Keto recipe book that OH got as a treat, and trying to put off breakfast until I have a meal plan for the weekend!!

    have a good weekend everyone

I have been back a few days and I have not seen TP anywhere whenever I've been out. I still have some and a few boxes of tissues but someone in my area must be storing it in their garage! Crazy times...

You sound like kept is working well for you. Great stuff.

    Have a peaceful weekend

DS's uni is similar. I would have bought the TP. None around here. We will run out this week if don't manage to get some.

That's a dreadful situation for you savingholmes - I wish you luck and hope the new approach taken by the supermarkets leaves more for everyone.

Probably TMI but you should try Keto - my need for TP is considerably less than it was by a considerable factor - eggsactly why I can't tell

Hi Mark - I have an MSE person offering to send me some in the post if need be! We have tissues. I now realise if it comes to it we also have fancy serviettes! We could separate the ply on to make them more suitable perhaps?
