Happy Sunday everyone. Not going to do a formal report today as I thought I would just ramble for a bit - so be warned!
OH and I are watching Sunday Brunch on Channel 4 - its one of our favorite programmes - we like the banter and the guests and the music, and its gentle background while we chat and have a coffee or two. We use Nespresso type pods from Lidl and milk which we froth up with a whisk (although I am currently black coffee no sugar), for about 20p a mug each.
Had a busy day yesterday was helping one of the local environmental groups plant some trees for a new project - a nice community thing to do so feel I have got some brownie (greenie?) points - although greenie points doesn't have the same ring to it.
As above my weight loss is going well, in Keto I finally seem to have found something that works and that I can stick too. Losing about 1kg a week is double what I thought was already an aggressive challenge - and am finding a balance that doesn't impose my diet on the rest of the house (mainly OH) by clever accessorising of lo carb and other foods
Money is bit wild at the moment, but apart from that a very housebound month or three in store will probably help me recover by slashing entertainment budget, Its basically home or work at the moment - not an exciting life - although work is quite fun at the moment. Most excitement in our life is going to the shops and wondering which random item will have been sold out for stupidity or greed reasons - and being concerned about those without he resources or capacity to bulk buy.
Enjoying the coming of spring and the lightening of the days - its meant I have been able to do a few more steps, and even made it up to a jog in an exuberant moment of recklessness. However, I won't be doing that again for a while
That's about it for the day, other than the exciting news that my DS1 has sold his van, and although he's taken a bit of a haircut on it financially, its frees him up to concentrate on getting a new job, without having to do all sorts just to cover the van loan. Important lesson, I will help because I don't think a single mistake when you are 20 should hover over you for 5 years, but the extent of that help will be less than I feared.
Have a good Sunday and stay safe, and stay wellI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Have you heard of kon jac noodles? Incredibly low carb but add a carb like texture to meals. thanks INOD - I did read about some lo carb noodles, but I had a look in the supermarket and got bored reading all the nutrition labels. I might try amazon though - just for a taster. my OH would appreciate that as it would make stir fries more interesting and substantial. tried yoghurt raspberries and seeds this morning - which was just over 1/3 of my daily 20g allowance for carbs, but was very nice, although I'm not quite sure how well it will set me up for the dayI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

done a bit of research - the verdict is a bit out on them but £1.50 for a pack is worth an experiment - INOD what tips did you use to make them most enjoyableI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Literally just threw them into stir fries to give a noodle like texture. They don’t actually taste of anything but do lift the monotony a bit. We got ours in an Asian supermarket and also Holland and Barrett for whom you can get cash back plus some good reductions when on sale.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Glad the loss on the van wasn't as much as you feared. Nice of you to help DS out. Hope he secures a new job soon.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

thank you savingholmes
DS1 is getting a lot of "we're interested but not hiring at the moment" chat from people he's contacting, so it may be a slog, but he has enough hustles to keep him in Pepsi but not really making any progress.
His Van is gone now, and so I was able to please the neighbours with less congestion on our driveway which they had been tut-tutting about
working from home at the moment so just starting at my normal get in the car time - time for a BCNS before I kick off - then hopefully I can get it done and shut the laptop before normal getting back home time. My OH is having less and less meetings at the moment for her things, so should be nice to potter around together on my breaksI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Day 2 WFH (work from home) gone well. 10 hours work (but nice 1 hour lunch with OH) and a pathetic 453 steps since I started at 7am.
Same again tomorrow. Am managing to avoid snacking too much while at home - our fridge is full-ish - and still on track losing another kilo this week so down to 245 lbs. I think the Keto makes being hungry a 3-4/10 unlike beforehand when it would be 12/10 !! And I have no will power!
Hope you are keeping well/safe/stocked upI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

We are stocked up - but already in self-isolation. Both of us are working from home. DH was sent home after being exposed to an American who had picked up the virus in France. It's saving us on fuel and commute though. Just hope that we retain our jobs for the long term. I should be reasonably safe. - DH's organisation weathered the last recession but who knows.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
