Ahh I love *meeting* fellow excel/reporting geeks :rotfl: one of my personal development plans for the year is to learn more sql & vbl.
Mine are
1. Lose weight
2. Have a baby/be pregnant, we're 2 years ttc the beginning of this coming year, I need to lose the weight to be eligible for ivf.
3. Learn more reporting tools and progress in work (and stop procrastinating so much)
4. Carry on learning italian0 -
Long time mse lurker here, need to focus this year, so I going to join in with this.
My goals for 2020 are:
1. Decorate the hallway. Walls, floor and doors.
2. Spend less time on my tablet/phone. Get my cross stitch stuff back out and use my spare time more productively
3. Find a new job. Will probably mean retraining so college courses to look at. I aim to be in a new job by Christmas this year
Only three goals but number 3 is going to be incredibly hard for me as I have been in this job over 10 years, I'm comfortable there even though I hate most of the job and above all I hate change.DFW Nerd no 239.....Last Personal Debt paid off Nov 2012!

Oooh, here we go for this year!!
I hope that myself and my family maintain good health
I hope to remain happy in my marriage
I hope to continue to be the best I can be for my babies-a good mother
We are holidaying to Disneyland in april and france again in july-i hope these pass without hiccup!
I hope to continue to develop my role at work, though I have considered leaving to a different team. I hope this time next year I feel more settled and happy at work.
I hope to reduce our debt(again!)....currently sat at £8000. It is interest free but I want rid so we can really focus on saving for retirement.
Good luck for 2020 kezzygirl0 -

Happy New Decade everyone!
My goals for 2020 are:
-lose 4st,
-get out more socially,
-travel more, including abroad at least once,
-finish painting my house (for now!),
-tidy up my garden,
-make better use of my time generally and
-try to meet someone.
Pretty much the same as last year but feeling very positive about it. Let's do this!0 -
My list of goals:
1. Publish my book
2. Complete my Masters with at least a 2:1
3. Pay off £6,000 of debt
4. Go to the gym an average of 4 times a week
5. Replace all my windows by the end of 2020!!!!!
That’s it. 🤣£2 Savers Club 2020 no. 90 -
So now I’ve done a bit of thinking and reviewing, my resolutions for 2020. One thing I’ve been thinking about is managing my focus - the last few years have been hard for a few (good) reasons but I’m determined 2020 is a year for turning a corner and focusing on the good stuff. Being grateful and noticing and saying it is also something I want to focus on.
One offs- Get the downstairs of the house painted (kitchen, sitting room, bathroom)
- Clean the attic - it’s like Halloween up there.
- Make a will (yes it’s on the list again)
- Travel to a new country or at least a new city
Health- Go to all my gym classes
- Walk 2020 miles including hillwalking and walking in nature
- Schedule one quiet weekend a month (no visitors)
- See a doctor about something I’ve been putting off
Overall goal is to lose a stone and be within the weight range I want before June. I’m giving up alcohol entirely until I hit that weight range so that’s a good incentive!
Family and friends- Keep in touch with relatives - have designated monthly and quarterly goals on this
- Be a better friend - keep in touch and answer texts/emails and support people who need it
Work- Don’t let myself be derailed by other peoples priorities and don’t take their complaints too seriously
- Apply for professional recognition and also see if I can get recognition for the team
- Recruit someone to help out
Finances- Change bank
- Keep up to date with financial admin
- Keep trying to save money - set money aside for long term house improvement goal (£2k) [STRIKE]and consider a LISA - I hadn’t heard of this so thanks for the tip[/STRIKE]Hadn’t heard of it cos I’m too old for it lol forget the LISA
Other- Read 100 books
- Stop random surfing - leave the phone in the kitchen in the evening and overnight
- Reduce plastic waste wherever possible and measure how often I put the bin out
- Write thank you notes (at least one a month)
Thanks everyone for all the inspiration and will check in quarterly and see how you’re getting on0 -
My goals
1. Lose some weight, ideally I would like to drop a couple of dress sizes.
2. Save enough to get a powered wheelchair (I qualify physically but not mentally or environmentally for one on the NHS....I still push myself too much apparently and the make up of my house is not great for a powered chair). The difference to my life would be huge, it would open up so many doorways for me, so many opportunities and would enable me to grab back some of the independence I have lost as I am currently unable to go out without someone to push my chair (I cannot self propel)
3. Accept life is what it is and not get hung up or stressed about it.
4. Increase pension contributions to help the future me. I don't earn enough for a work based scheme but I am currently paying £32 (£40 with the government top up) a month privately. The pot isn't huge, in fact it is tiny but it's something at least.
5. See the doctor about health concerns when they occur and not when it becomes more of an issue. There's an element of burying my head in the sand and also an element of fear/PTSD that goes back to my break down for this. CBT in 2019 went some way to breaking down some barriers for a time but it hasn't lasted.
6. Related to number 5, get over myself and my phobia around medication/tablets once and for all. It's getting tiresome having to explain it over and over again whenever anything is needing to be prescribed and I would dearly love not to see 'that' look from medical staff anymore.
7. Keep hanging on in there and finish the year still physically able to keep working, albeit on my very part time hours. Ideally I would like to find a better paying job that is within my capabilities.
8. Write my book or at least get past the first few chapters without deciding to start all over again for about the 10th time. I've been trying to write it since the boys were at high school....two have now graduated university (and there is a three year age difference between son 1 and son 2) and the third one is in his third year at university! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.1 -
Ooh count me in:
1) I want to deal with my eating disorder and eat properly
2) Do more of the art I want to do and attend some art fairs
3) Get an art studio in the garden (this is a biggie!)
4) Understand my rescue doggie better and help her overcome her fears
5) Be more compassionate towards others
6) (this is a bit of a reach) learn another language
I have the motivation, let's hope I can keep it up!12K in 2020 #85 £215.53/£3K, Virtual Sealed Pot Challenge #11 £34.31/£300, Frugal Living Challenge 2020, Grocery Challenge Jan 2020 £265.54/£4501
