  • we’ve never had one so definitely need to get one started!
In the meantime I’m keeping my savings I have there til I’m at least 1k saved for emergency fund!

We had a disaster today where a large stone of some kind got flicked up by another car and chipped the windscreen, which then cracked 🙈
I called round for quotes then thought we’d check the car insurance and we are covered! We had to pay just £100 so I’m pleased with that!

  • I can not believe it!

We just won £800 on the lottery (hot picks).
SO that’s well and truly sorted out my savings pot for new flooring and a new sofa!!! 🥳

We don’t even buy lottery tickets and hubby just randomly did one whilst getting a newspaper this morning 😳

No its going straight into my bank tomorrow 💪🏻

We don’t bother with the lottery anymore. Years ago we did it weekly then I thought £52 a year being wasted 😂
Sometimes if the euromillions is a ridiculous amount we get a ticket to try out luck, but apart from that we don’t do it!

Yesterday was a very good day. We found a beautiful old bureau on the side of the road. Knocked and asked the owner if we could have it and they said yes.
We got it home cleaned it up then realised it didn’t fit where I had planned in my head 😓
I put it in fb marketplace and within 39 minutes sold for £50! 🥳
We dropped the owner a bottle of wine we had from Christmas as I felt guilty 🙈😂

  • We went to the post office this morning and got the lotto win.
We then popped my our local independent carpet shop that’s operating at the door which was handy! I assumed they were closed due to covid.
I have a man coming tomorrow morning to do a free measure and free quote.

I have managed to sell some items on eBay. I’ve not used eBay for years, I forgot how nice it is to sell things I’d normally leave hanging around or throw away!
hoping to make a nice amount on there won’t be a huge amount but still.

  • All my items sold on eBay £67 in the pot! I’m pleased with that.

The weather is certainly cheering me up, although still a little cold it’s gorgeous seeing the sun shining and smelling fresher air!

I’ve not been too well recently and have been in and out of A&E. I’ve had tests and appointments and I had a 24hr heart monitor fitted yesterday which was taken off this morning. Had a dreadful nights sleep laying on my back scared to move 😂
Looking forward to a hot bubble bath and a better nights sleep tonight!
I am worried, but hoping whatever it is is just minor and treatable!

Sorry to hear that you have been unwell.  That is my worst thing worrying that some twinge or other ache is more serious than it is, partly because both my parents had something that ended up more serious!!.  So good luck, and a nice soak sounds like just what is called for

I got the quote for my downstairs flooring this morning which was lower than I thought so I was pleased! I have today ordered the sofa!
SO savings pot 1 has now gone! The amount remaining is the start of the emergency fund 💪🏻
it took me literally 6 hours to order the sofa because I didn’t want my savings to disappear 🙈😂
I’ll pay and book the flooring in tomorrow, I’m  hoping to judge it right so I can get flooring down around the time of sofa delivery. We can live with no sofa for a while if needs be.

Now I will focus on continuing to save, and hopefully keep us debt free and secure if an emergency crops up!

Been a while! Hope all are well.
All is going well here. The new flooring was done today. It looks absolutely amazing!!
Our sofa will be arriving in a few weeks time AND I’m just over £1k saved so far!
was on £0 last time I posted!!

I feel so proud if I’m honest. I do believe I’ve learnt my lesson now!!
An emergency fund is SO important and I know it will prevent mishaps in the future where I’d normally slip into debt.

I have literally stopped all non essential shopping, and apart from a weekly food shop I’ve not been to a shop since Feb 2020!!
