Tbh it you are in housing association it's fairly good rent anyway tbh. But you also want to be in the position that it the option for RTB comes up you have the savings for it. So once debts are clear I'd focus on finding a good balance.*Dad loan - £5300 - £7300
*Virgin Credit Card - £3552.50 - £0
*Natwest - £1828.35 -£400
Barclaycard - £2315.25 - £0.00
Creation Finance - £960.32 £860
*Total debt - £8560/£11641.17*
Savings
*Savings Buffer - £1000/£1500
*Emergency Fund - £1000/£1500

We have tried to do exchange but no one wants it due to the rent.
I think your right though, having the option to maybe be able too in the future would be nice!
Whether we can save enough is the other thing, plus even get and pay a mortgage 🙈
Lots to think about and plan if we intend to go down that route.

Would you get it at a reduced rate like you do with council housing? What about shared ownership they may be able to offer you that as its a housing association. I guess once the options on the table you can look into possibilities*Dad loan - £5300 - £7300

Not much has been happening here!Hubby’s tooth is all fixed, his pain free and happy albeit a few ££’s lighter lol!
I did a small survey on prolific this morning so that’s £10.08 in there. I’m hoping it picks up, I don’t seem to get many surveys anymore!
covid really has helped us financially and I feel very lucky. So many people are effected financially and it’s heartbreaking to read and hear!
I’ve always moaned about hubby’s job and how I wished for better etc, but it seems his job has been perfect for covid being a keyworker he has had to work and keep a wage coming in!
Im grateful for that and will never moan again as I know others are not as lucky!
If he’d had any of these other “wished for” jobs we’d certainly be in a mess I’m certain!Savings - Emergency fund £600.17/5000

I'm definitely in the camp that job security is a key aspect. the grass is always greener in the other job, but the value of what you have is often underestimated. bit like Brexit really
(your views may vary)
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine2 -
I have to keep reminding myself of that. I'm the same worked all through as a key worker but it's been hard work and very tiring.*Dad loan - £5300 - £7300

Agree to you both!
My husband has learning difficulties, attending a special needs school and has no qualifications so has always worked in a low pay job. He literally left school at 16 got a job within 6 weeks and has been working ever since!
I’m very proud of that in itself!
People around us has always been quite unkind looking back, always looked down at his job. BUT what they never knew back then was, he and other keyworkers were and are very much needed to keep thing flowing when everything else stopped, closed and went awol! Most now struggling financially, faced not knowing if their business is safe or whether they’ll recover from all that covid has damaged.
Feeling very grateful indeed!12 hours a day for 5 days a week suddenly feels worth “the hard graft for nothing” (as they say). His worked throughout covid and stayed healthy and safe most importantly!
I for one am grateful to all the keyworkers who aren’t often named and praised!I do believe you all deserve a pay rise or a bonus at least! I read that Lidl had given their staff £200 as a thank you.
My parents both received their first covid vaccine today. They had the Oxford vaccine and called me very happy.
It was only a few weeks ago my mum had said she wasn’t having it, and was far too scared 😱
She is feeling relieved and grateful now and seeing some light!
Both have been shielding since last March, it’s been very hard bless them!Savings - Emergency fund £600.17/5000

I’ve been very quiet, but been on checking in on everyone.
Nothing to report really here other than savings is going remarkably well! I feel SO proud that I’ve almost hit 4K!
Now I know I can do it I hope to continue ❤️I need to make a start on the emergency fund savings. This will help in the event of my husband being off work or a home appliance breaking down. We’ve never owned a credit card and never will purely because we can not be trusted 🙈😂
I really think this is important to have an emergency fund, any amount is better than nothing so I’ll be squirrelling away as much as I can and then will keep adding as I go.
We have been lucky that we’ve never been in the situation where my husbands been off work, but you just don’t know! IF it was to happen we’d be in a hell of a mess!
He doesn’t get paid for sickness so it’s quite a worry!!Savings - Emergency fund £600.17/5000
