MiniKeePass is ok but it doesn't sync changes made on your phone to the database. Keepassium and others will do.
That ties in with the question in my last post then - about the security of this vs something like LastPass & 1Password (for examples but not specifically those two).
The apps/programs i use are stored on the device they're used on - my PC and my iPhone. I have to manually send to my iPhone and save to the app. There's nothing up there in the sky so i wonder if this then makes it more secure?
Anything kept in the cloud (not sky) is only as secure as the system providing the cloud services ... as these are outwith your own control then "on device" security will always be more secure. It's really a balance between security and convenience.
I use 1Password and have been using it since I moved away from Lastpass when they were hacked.
Unfortunately they do seem to be trying to push people towards their cloud syncing subscription model, but you can still purchase a one off licence and not use their cloud storage, instead opting to sync your devices across icloud, Dropbox, etc (an encrypted file of course)
Hi
May i ask how you purchase a one-off 1password licence? Because on their pricing page they just list monthly pricing for home use: https://1password.com/sign-up/
Cheers
If you go to any reputable security forum this question always comes back with two choices, both open source solutions. Those are KeePass/XC and Bitwarden (cloud or self hosted).
