Santander Mortgage Application timeline

Options
Folks, just thought to check if someone has had a recent mortgage application with Santander through an independent M broker ?
trying to find out whats the time line - is that the case that once they instruct valuation survey, it means the application is with underwriters ? and all they are waiting for is the valuation of the property to be confirmed before issuing M offer ?

Just feeling v anxious and keen to find out about the process !! :)

thanks in advance !!

We applied via a broker with Santander on 18th Dec within 2 days the valuation was booked and the broker told us we had been accepted subject to valuation and hard credit checks took place just 1 day after submitting application. Now there’s not much happening because the valuation didn’t happen last week, no idea why which is frustrating so it’s now re booked for 6th jan it feels like it’s taking forever now. Our application has been with the underwriters since 20th Dec just have to be patient for now.

thanks - when you say your application is with underwriters, what are you referring to ? I mean is it the mortgage broker who mentions this ?

Our broker had been keeping us up to date which is good and we have also been able to log in to the mortgage application online to see what stage it’s at and it’s been at the underwriters stage for a while now but that’s because there was some confusion with the valuation which is holding it up we are also doing help to buy so I guess it just takes a bit longer. Have you applied with Santander too?

We’ve been able to log into both, with Santander I don’t think the link works if I send it but your broker can give you your username it starts with AA and a password, also we have a portal we log into that the broker set up so I check both 24/7! When you google “Santander mortgage timeline” it tells you their current service levels which is great, on the same page there’s a link to check your application process but your broker can give you the details to log in . When did you apply? I hate the waiting!

Yes i have the AA number and but my broker didnt give me any password in fact forwarded the confirmation email which was generated when all the documents were uploaded. I will try to get the password (I hope its an allowable thing to be shared) .. does your applcation specifically says its with underwriters or just having all docs accepted means its with underwriters ? sorry for asking too many questions

It just says “underwriting lender assessment” and it’s been saying that for nearly 2 weeks! We had the hard credit checks 1 day after application was submitted too and they haven’t asked for any more documents etc. Broker confirmed that we’ve been accepted subject to valuation so that’s what we’re waiting for which isn’t for another week yet, originally the valuation was booked for the 23rd Dec but no one knows why it didn’t happen so it feels like everything is on hold right now. We got a text from Santander when they received our application I think they also text when they issue the mortgage offer. When is your valuation booked for?

so our valuation was conducted yesterday on 30th dec and today underwriters requested further information - last 2 years P60s and 3 months bank statements and 3 months salary slips.. all submitted and now status says application back to underwriters .. feeling v anxious and worried :( .. any guess or ideas why they are looking into more information after the valuation? though they confirmed that valuation was okay and they have accepted the results. !!!
