How come there are less petrol stations yet more cars on the roads these days?

15-20 years ago there was 5 petrol stations in my town and 1 in the next village. Now we only have 3 in my town and none in the next village.

Or is it just badly positioned stations have closed in favour of new ones built in better locations?

    Supermarkets driving prices down.
    Increased range in modern cars.
Strengthened environmental regs for the filling stations themselves.

It all means they simply aren't profitable. And who wants to run an unprofitable business? <locks doors, turns lights off>

    I'm still correct.

That argument is years old and and nobody cares.

Insisting you're right when you're demonstrably wrong is the same mindset as drivers who cut others up then blame or abuse them.

The only people who perpetuate the argument are those who don't care about or understand the basics of their mother tongue.

They're the same people who use "brought" where they mean "bought", because they can't understand the difference between "to bring" and "to buy".

do a stretch from london to lake district in the summer without AC and windows down at 70mph if you want to endure torture. I'd prefer to have AC

On both my current car and my previous car the AC gave out and couldn't be bothered to regas, and likely a seal had gone too, and I survived fine. In the previous car I was living in Italy and never found it necessary to repair.

As for cruise control you'd hardly get the opportunity to use down here in the south and I very much doubt for long on a London to lake district haul. I've never had it on a car and the only time I've experienced it was a channel port to the Alps motorway haul in my friend's van. Very useful, but a once a year event.

I'd be fine with a lower specced car, I'm just waiting for the EV models! It's amusing how people limit themselves: "it hasn't got a heated steering wheel/Bose stereo/enough coffee cup holders", and only the last of those is one I haven't actually seen. ;-)

But saying they don't have the limited spec model in stock due to lack of demand is to underestimate the desire from dealers to push you into what they want to sell, as many people trying to buy an EV have found..

Oh what are you babbling on about? I know what is right and wrong and less is no biggie and is used in all the supermarkets. Anyway, you want to get your own house in order first before calling anyone else. When I was at school I was taught not to start a sentence with "And".
