Why can't manufacturers produce something as simple as that anymore? (ok I kinda know the answer which is that there wouldn't be any money in it). Classic 3-dial heater controls - so much simpler (and thereby safer) than having to access a tree of menus just to warm your feet up a bit.0

"Access" spec on several models from Dacia.

A grand cheaper than the next trim level is a big gap when we're talking £7-8k OTR. Any colour you want so long as it's white, steelies, black bumpers, keep-fit windows, no rear head restraints, key-in-door locking...
And nobody buys them.

1,800 "Access" spec

They do.

I think it is more a case of they don't bring in many poverty spec. models for you to buy.
If I were buying Dacia, I'd have poverty spec.
As you say, it saves a massive amount, the next trim level adds a radio (which won't be as good as an aftermarket one), alloy wheels (vastly inferior to steel) and carpets (that you will immediately put rubber mats over) for a massive price increase (and no doubt a much healthier profit)
Dacia seem to be going the same way as Skoda & Hyundai/Kia- once they convince the public that they are cheap cars, up go the prices.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

Chicken, egg.
If they sold, they'd bring more in.
And you'd wait for a factory order? If so, then "bring in" is irrelevant.
That was my point- people walk in for the headline price of poverty spec. but you have to wait until they next knock out a batch, but there is a "better spec." car for "just a little bit more" in stock today.
When I was after a Duster a couple of years ago they couldn't even give a delivery estimate for poverty spec.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

You could be right, I really don't know, all I do know is that I am not the target demographic for new cars specs., and there are marketing people paid far more than me who decide what people want.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

A bit chicken and egg surely?
People might decide what they want, but ultimately it's a "marketing person" who decides what they'll be offered as in "people want electric gizmos so we'll give them those"?
No good saying you want this that and the other if it's not offered as an option.0 -
I,m trying to find a value for a carefully maintained single owner 20 y.o. Corsa 1.1 cc with c 30,000 miles on the clock.
Where should I look please?
So without looking for comparisons i'd go in at the £600-£1000 area.
Anything is only worth what someone will pay for it. Someone who just wants A-B motoring may give you £300 for it ... it's a 20 year old car. Someone who loves Corsa Bs (if i'm right on that) may give you upper end. Depends a lot on condition and history also.
Reminds me of the Fiat Cinquento (i wont even bother to check i spelled that correctly) Sporting that my wife had as a first car. She got it around 2007-2008 as a first car, given, on a P plate which i think is 1996 and it had only done 5000 miles. For the record that is not a typo, that is five-thousand-miles.
FFWD 12 months, she p/x'd it against a Polo, they gave £300 valuation for it. Next week it's got a tag in the window £1295.
I ran checks on it some time later. Apparently it got shipped somewhere.0
