Being filmed like a criminal.

. . .
Everywhere I go I see folk carrying bottle of water ,we don't like in a climate in the UK where its so hot you need to rehydrate , . . .
A consultant urologist was saying the other day that people are getting bladder problems because they are drinking too much - that we never used to feel the need to carry around a bottle of water with us all the time.0 -

It's not just simple CCTV being used but facial recognition technology too!
As someone constantly followed and watched by security in stores (and no I'm not a shoplifter) it does get to you after awhile.
Why?
Right now I live in the country but when I go into town and the cities, I understand that as coon as I hit a junction my car number plate is read to ensure I have road Tax and insurance. I know as soon as I hit the city Im filmed every inch of my journey. I know its happening but it doesn't stop me doing what I want to do, I never even think about it
Actually I do think about it now and then, when me and Mr S are planning the perfect crime, and realise we would be in a police cell very bloody quickly0 -

People also never felt the need to protect children from second hand smoke or drenching there vegetables in DDT........ your point is??0 -

But that’s the thing. Looking up at the ceiling there are 20+ CCTV cameras so the point of the screen isn’t to collect evidence of a potential crime it’s solely there to make people uncomfortable.
I also suspect that the vast majority of shoplifting is happening in the shop where people are stuffing things under their clothes rather than at the checkouts. What next? A security guard following you around 3 feet behind you watching everything you do?0 -

I too find it strange ,but then I am of that age group If you are strong enough to run round a park would carrying a small bottle of water be too much ?
Everywhere I go I see folk carrying bottle of water ,we don't live in a climate in the UK where its so hot you need to rehydrate , or if not water then interminable cups of coffee. Can folk not manage to get through life today without permanently eating or drinking in the street
I am darned sure I would never cough up a quid for glorified tap water no matter if it was running down a mountainside
Thankyou for noting that your not strong enough to be running let alone doing 3 laps of Regent’s Park (long route) at sub 6 minute mile pace. Could I thus surmise that your experience of hydrating for such a run is also not something you have experience of? Right with that out of the way.
I usually carry a small rucksac for my MacBook Pro and a bentobox so yes I also take an aluminium water bottle because there are times when I feel thirsty and there are no readily available water sources ie the tube. I personally prefer to drink a small amount when I’m thirsty rather than gulp down huge amounts in the morning or evening when I’m at home. Also like you I don’t wish to pay 85p for 500ml when I’m out unless I absolutely must (maybe 3/4 times a year).
As regards coffee I agree.... if I’m going to pay £3/4 for a coffee I want to enjoy it not walking around with it in a paper cup. Same goes with food.
Lastly most of your argument against water is related to cost rather than the plastic bottle it comes in ie the environment. Now that definitely is a generational thing as your generation has spent its time ‘destroying’ the environment whereas mine is trying or at least trying to start cleaning it up.0 -

Given his snide dig about JackieO's apparent fitness level (as opposed to his own athleticism and all-round superior wisdom), I'd say not according to Mr S - unless that view agrees with his own.
Bless.
