Oh godddd. You didn't. Someone else did. You used my reply to that other poster.

    Go read again.

Read post 8. You quoted me. ;)

I'm out, you won't get your parcel back but hopefully you will learn for the future.

You said: "judgemental? No. Get a grip"

Why would you say that when my previous reply about being judgmental wasn't directed at you?

    Anyway, thanks

According to anecdotal evidence only on the eBay community boards the item if found will be destroyed (not re sold) and you will eventually be informed of this, assuming they have any contact details for you.

It is rare for any perfumes to get through the x rays without being detected, rare but not impossible.

To anyone selling online it is a well known restriction - perfumes and nail varnishes , but I suspect to the vast majority of the general public it isn't something they would necessarily know about.

Which is why the staff at the post office usually ask what you are sending. Saying gift usually brings up a rolled eyes and what is in the parcel.
Or at least it is round here.

Just a tip for the future when you send parcels when asked what the parcel contains "a gift" is not a suitable answer, how could they ever tell you whether the item posted was allowed or not when you didn't tell them what was actually in the parcel.

If you'd answered the same question as "perfume" then you would have been told that it couldn't be sent.

For your current problem there is a 50/50 chance you will get the parcel back only if you have included a return address, I've known of some people getting prohibited parcel back (although usually only if there were other items in the package too) and others who have just a letter explaining the item was destroyed. If you didn't include a return address then you will obviously not get either.

Well there is a return address on it. It was only a 50ml bottle.

I have resigned myself to not having it delivered now but I just hope I get it back so I can get a refund. It was quite expensive.

I don't suppose the cover included in the posting price will mean anything either?

I do think the PO should have questioned “gift” as that is far to generic.

I also think the OP should have answered “perfume”
