Enjoy your bank holiday BC!!
OMG yes, the pink shrimps vs chocolate would be a deal breaker for me too! My DH came back with dark chocolate buttons today without realising and I can't stand dark chocolate!1 -
Blackcats said:thanks loveactually. If the weather is yucky on Monday I'm going to make a pot of tea and spend the afternoon watching a film.Spent some money today. OH went to the shop with a list and a clear explanation of everything on the list and came back with some bizarre variations to the list. For example bunch of flowers as a thank you gift translated into 2 hanging baskets and a chilli plant 🤷♀️. Chocolate for the grandkids turned into bubble blowing wand 😂. Chocolate for me equals a packet of pink shrimp sweets 😱

Oh yikes. That shop would have properly stressed me out! I don't think DH would dare come back with different things from the list these days 🤣2025 decluttering: 4,019 🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅🌟

Yes indeed! The shop left me feeling a mixture of perplexed and irritated. Even worse was to come when I investigated the foamy shrimps and found that they weren't even full sized shrimps - they were teeny, tiny toddler shrimps. We had a conversation yesterday about having lots of eggs to use up and decided to make a crustless quiche tomorrow. We went to the butchers today and I had to wrench half a dozen eggs from OH's hands - he said the box looked nice 😏.Interestingly though he never buys "stuff" - his clothes last forever and he uses things up, repairs and re-purposes things. I think it's just the food shopping where he goes a bit wonky.I had a lovely 9 day bank holiday Monday today. Went for a walk to a beautiful place with a flask and a sandwich. Gets some chores done and settled down for an episode of Midsummer Murders.I need to check bank account tomorrow - all the direct debits for the month should have gone out now and I want to see if what's left in the account is similar to what I think should be there.3

Many years ago I sent Mr SA to do the big shop on his own when we’d unfortunately been burgled and I had to stay home to wait for the police. I gave him a list, he couldn’t find most of the things on it and came back with mostly beer, chocolate and peanuts. Needless to say he was never asked to shop again 😐I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

I like pink shrimps so I would have been happy. The late MrC was alright at shopping as long as the list was quite specific. The packing let him down though - he was strangely proud of using the least number of carrier bags possible which was ok if there wasn't anything particularly squashy bought. I quickly learned not to add bread to the list if he was shopping....3

SA. Beer, peanuts and chocolate 🤣. Cranky - I've eaten the pink shrimps - they were in the car and I got stuck for 2 hours on the London orbital motorway of doom.No money spent today. I've got some items in my amaz*n basket that I'll have a further think about before I press buy.
still working through the freezer for at least one meal per week. Will use some frugal recipes next week from my recipe folder.4 -

Yes indeed - no food waste from the foamy shrimps.
tough week here - my mum is in the last phase of her life. She has been poorly for a while but is rapidly deteriorating. It's desperately hard to see her slipping away. She doesn't appear to be in any pain which is a blessing.
so it's been very haphazard food wise for me - got home late one night and had fish and chips, sausage sandwich yesterday. I did make a nice salad tonight as was getting slightly worried about scurvy 🥺. I've been kind to myself and done an online Ocado shop for food. I was aware of the higher cost of items but I can overlook that at the moment. Tried to put a mixture of healthy stuff as well as quick and easy options.
