I keep thinking I need to be realistic and just apply polyfilla

Have a marvellous time, it's most mse to be able to enjoy something knowing the finances for it are in order

Agree re waste on toiletries/beauty products. When I first started using a lip-brush to extract the last of a lipstick, I was horrified to find that it amounted to about a third of the actual product. The cases are such that we pay for a nice lipstick, use 2/3 & throw the remaining 1/3 away. What an utter waste!

@PennysIntoPounds - I've started with primer and might work up to facial polyfilla.

@foxgloves - totally agree about lipstick.  Back in my spendy era I was actually happy to sort of finish a lipstick so I could justify a trip to one of the fancy make up counters and treat myself to some new cosmetics and hopefully spend enough to qualify for a "free" gift 🤷‍♀️

Utterly fabulous concert last night, such a professional group with so many great tunes.  An added bonus was sitting on the next table to 2 of the band at breakfast today.  We booked the show and accommodation last May so it was a nice surprise to find that the hotel had already been paid for.  I didn't think it had but that's what the lady said so I'm happy to take her word for it.

That was a nice surprise the hotel was already  paid for however that happened. Glad you had a good time 🙂

Back in the day I was also a sucker for the Gift With Purchase, often ending up buying things I didn’t really need just to get the gift 😐

Oh I wasn't going to go for facial polyfilla, just the stuff for walls, no need to be unnecessarily fancy 😁

Ooh hark at you breakfasting with band members!
Glad you had a fab time, what a win to find the hotel had already been paid for

SA and PIP - the already paid for hotel was a nice surprise but did remind me that my financial management system might have a little flaw in it 🙃
thanks SH - it was a really energising and uplifting concert which we booked last May and it was worth waiting for.

our fun budget is taking a hammering at the moment but we have got a few meet ups with friends and family which I'm pleased about.  Fish n chips with my dad tonight which he was so looking forward to and thoroughly enjoyed, lunch out tomorrow with in-laws and then on Mondaybsharing a takeaway with one of our kids and grandkids.  After that we will be ready to enjoy some home cooking.

Fun budgets are supposed to take a hammering if you're living life well. Bask in having been able to budget the money for it. Especially glad your dad was looking forward to his grub and enjoyed it

yes PIP it was really sweet to see him so chirpy for his chippy tea.  He had his tray ready on his lap when we arrived!  Cornetto afterwards and it was like a day out to Brighton.

That's so cute about your dad with his tray. I hope your childhood included fish and chips for tea in Brighton, because mine did and it was fab. To relive that with him must have been lovely.
