I like the idea of sparkle. I felt like I deserved a medal today for showering, cleaning my teeth and putting on nice clothes ready for a phone call (no video) with a hospital consultant LOL. I spoke to the neighbours the other day at 4pm and I was still in my nightie (let's call it lounge wear) and she had a dressing gown on over real clothes... Shows the effect of staying home though.... Hope your skype calls go well. Like the milk carton tip too.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Saving Holmes - all our routines are out of synch, loungewear is probably fine throughout the day in the circumstances 😍. Did your video hospital appointment go well?I'm used to being based at home so I'm just following my normal routine as much as possible. My work is very busy so I'm finding it hard not to feel a teeny bit jealous of other people's more leisurely days, however, I know no-one has had a choice about their current work arrangements and it is very tough financially for some people.I'm playing my part with the work I'm doing and others are playing their part by following the rules - teamwork,3

Despite me giving the hospital my MRI disc and this being successfully uploaded they couldn't find the report that went with it so will need to ring me back. TBF the original person due to call me was off sick...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Fingers crossed you get the call back Holmes - it is so busy in hospitals at the moment - unprecedented. Don't be afraid to call again if you haven't heard back soon.I've worked out that I like the instant gratification of buying things and that pretty things with the promise of nice smells are my weakness. I was asked to buy myself a birthday present by an elderly relative. I fancied some Body shop goodies and I knew I would have a £5 birthday voucher. I chose my lovely smellies and then was mildly outraged (can you be mildly outraged or is that an oxymoron?) at the checkout to be told delivery in 14-16 days. Now I do understand the current situation but the impatient child in me was sooo disappointed at the wait. How ridiculous.None of my own money spent today.3

Yay for the sparkle. I get the 'i kinda wish I could be doing X y z but things are work as normal here' feeling.2

Hi Blackcats - I know the feeling on delivery. I also get £5 from Bodyshop - and it's my birthday coming up. Am I right in thinking there is a time limit on using it? Glad you were able to treat yourself. The consultant did call back and confirmed what the physio had told me. He's referred me to a different specialist for lower down my leg. He was very nice in the circumstances.

Glad your appointment took place Saving Holmes.
I've been craving an Orla Keilly storage jar since that temptress Foxgloves told us she'd got a free set of storage tins. So, using every ounce of self discipline I've waited til my birthday and chosen one as a gift. Sooo excited. It's sooo beautiful and I'm keeping my tea bags in it so I will enjoy it frequently as I drink a lot of tea ☕️I'm enjoying the long weekend and have been tidying up papers. The shredder has been busy dealing with papers that are no longer needed (if they ever were needed)3 -
The 'Tin Temptress' just dropping in to say no tins received yet. First magazine of the subscription due at the end of this month. I wonder if it will arrive. Thanks for flagging up Body Sh*p delivery delays - understandable - as I need a few essentials & may order from them.
Enjoy your new tin!

Thank you for the good wishes on the arrival of my new tea bag container. As a result of my MSE journey and the learning from lockdown I really feel happy/lucky and will enjoy the jar. Only on these diaries would folk send good wishes in respect of a tin 🥰
I've started to use "real" bars of soap instead of liquid hand wash recently. I've got an enormous stash of the mini soaps you get at hotels and in gift boxes so I can confidently predict that I won't need to buy any for at least a year. So a few less plastic bottles to landfill and a few pounds saved.7
