ah yes indeed the creative use of cheques was an art form back in the day.

A nice day today.  Started with achieving my new target of swimming 22 lengths.  It's only an increase of 2 lengths but I must be conditioned to 20 lengths and the last 2 feel like hard work.  We went to the cafe for lunch which is budgeted for so we then adjusted our evening meal plan.  Dad's carer didn't cook the pizza that was due to be his lunch today.  It was use by today and I would never take the risk with dad's food that I might take with ours so we jazzed it up with bits and bobs and had that with salad for our tea.

the building society had "kindly" moved my matured ISA to another ISA account paying 2.3% interest so I've moved that to another one of their accounts paying 4.5% - will make a considerable difference to the interest I receive next year.  Glad I kept an eye on it and the swop only took about 5 minutes.

I do a very good chinese length.  You wouldn't think I was born in a house next door to an outdoor swimming pool.

Well done on switching the isa that's a big difference in interest.

I love swimming when I go but it always feels like such an effort to go.

Well done you, has the cat been spotted recently? I need a leisure centre cat to tempt me in for a swim!

Was that just an oversight on carer's behalf or is there an issue there? Glad you could reclaim the pizza.

Excellent swift movement on the ISA

@PIP - it was a genuine oversight by the carer, she just chose the wrong option from the fridge.

    MSE things
the Repair and Replace savings pot is growing well.  It makes a psychological difference for me to throw all the odds and ends of £'s into one place.  Once it reaches £500 then I'll do the same with the Medical, dental, optical pot.
Doing well on grocery spends this month.  Like many folk we had lots of leftovers which have been very handy
skipped my laundry tab delivery for this month as we found a huge bottle of washing liquid in the garage so we will be plodding our way through that for quite a while

waiting for the 🐙 refund.  £100 will go to holiday pot and £50 to repair/replace pot.

month ahead money is all safely in place and regular savings are all up to date.

who the heck is this blackcats person with her shiny budgeting halo? 😇

strange to think that I've finally worked out that it's much easier to be organised with money than to overspend and try to juggle.  Learned this about 40 years after my first pay packet!

Very well done on the money juggling front. I’m having a pit topping up session next month.
