@Makingabobor2 - it's such a relaxing place isn't it. Our air bnb is £300 for 5 nights which we think is really good value.
@savingholmes - conversation certainly does flow better especially with teenagers as they have to be off their phones and there's nowhere to hide!
final part of our 2025 financial strategy has fallen in to place. If I was still at work I'd turn it into a fancy infographic and give it a lah-di-dah title like "Blackcats plc Financial Strategy and Strategic Intent statement. Year 1 Implementation and High Impact Change Phase.
however, what we will be doing is planning our household activities, preparing ahead and taking care of our resources. I've taken inspiration from the MSE Advent thread where I was able to re-discover and enjoy existing items of jewellery and other things. So the idea is to be more like @foxgloves and shop from home as much as possible. It also includes not wasting resources such as food, electric, gas, water etc. and therefore not waste money. our most precious resource is our health, time and energy and we are going to take good care of those too.

Here we are on the Isle of Wight all warm and cosy in our little apartment after a beautiful sunny day walking along the beach and stopping for a coffee and then a walk back along the cliff top and stopping for homemade soup in a lovely cafe. Rather more mundane but we then popped to Lidls to buy provisions for a cook at home dinner. Got our free vegetable item and a free doughnut which we've just had with a cuppa. As a child I remember the bliss of getting a doughnut from the bakers - sugary and jammy delight. All i can say is at least this one was free cos it certainly had nothing much else going for it.
feeling pleased with our planning ahead for this trip as we have everything we could possibly want without needing to waste money by duplicating things we already have. I even remembered to buy a packet of sweets from the supermarket for the journey rather than the temptation of the "offers" at petrol stations.5 -

Thank you!Weather today couldn't have been more different to yesterday! Grey, windy and heavy rain but we wrapped up warm and walked along the beach to our favourite cafe. Luckily they were open and have an undercover eating area and as my Nan used to say "we aren't made of aspirin". I had Brie, pear and walnut flatbread and MrBC had chorizo hash. After a bit of sharing I can confirm that both were yummy. The card machine was struggling to take payment and the owner said we could go back tomorrow to pay but luckily we remembered our cash stash. By this stage it was absolutely hooning down and the owner gave us a lift along the seafront back to the road which was so kind of him.
MSE task today was to re-order the savings pots on our Chase account. A small but fiddly thing to do but now the day to day spending pots are clustered together and the cumulative accounts are clumped together too. The pot I'm focussing on first is Repair&Replace and so far this month I've topped it up with bits and pieces of money so that it now stands at £211.46 / £500. Should get to the halfway point by month end.5 -
