Aw that sounds great, good thing you've booked a night away so you can have a quicker lie-down after all your dancing/moshing in your entirely apt make-up!
Sorry for laughing at 'Elvis at our local curry restaurant in December', sounds like the discarded first draft of 'Down in the tube station at midnight' 😁https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase

One of my neighbours was related to someone who had a dog called Elvis. When we first moved here I heard her shouting the dog indoors before I knew about him. You can imagine the thoughts going through my head 🤣2

Our dogs original name when he came into the UK was Blackie. I am so glad the rescue changed it as we would have had to anyway.

And there was me thinking Elvis worked down the chip shop.
Mum was an Elvis fan and she saw some excellent acts but the last one was apparently dire as was the food. 🙄. Hope this is a good night r3 -
Me too! It's one of my kitchen karaoke classics, along with 'Don't come the cowboy with me".

@PennysIntoPounds - unfortunately Mr Weller and myself couldn't agree on the use of my "Elvis at the curry shop in December" lyrics so he used his own "down in the tube station at midnight" line although he did mention a takeaway curry. Still as they say "That's Entertainment" 😉
@peb - I also like the Elvis chip shop song too - it's a great singalong.
@CRANKY40 - Elvis is a good name for a dog. I had a rescue cat once who was called Roger and that was a bit odd when calling him home. It was made worse though because I was working in an office where two of my colleagues both had husbands called Roger (different husbands, same name). One day they were both moaning about their Rogers and I said that it could be worse as my Roger had done a poo in the corner of the bedroom that morning! Of course, for those of us with slightly smutty minds I realise that "moaning about their Rogers" could cause a smirk
@ladyholly - yes, good job the name was changed.
@foxgloves - going to find the other song you mention as I don't think I've heard it.
after a few posts describing spendiness, I decided to chronicle non spendy things from this week
money saving
I re-started using my petrol prices app and we saved 7p a litre just by driving an extra 1/2 mile to a petrol station that we always assumed was expensive
used our Lidl app and claimed a free box of 24 own brand weetabix and an oat and honey loaf which is very nice toasted with jam on
not spending money
i was planning on doing a whistlefish Christmas card and wrap stock up but instead checked my existing stock and found enough cards for this year and 3 rolls of nice wrapping that I got from olio back in January as well as gift bags saved from last year so no spend required at all. Christmas is costly for us as we have a big family so this money saving is very welcome. Happy shooing from home win.
making money (hopefully) 2 items listed on eBay. They are niche items so might take a while to sell but they would never sell if they stayed in the garage. There's another item to list tomorrow if I successfully prompt/nag MrBC.5 -
Well done on shopping from home.
Smutty minds indeed...

Wonderful work on all those non-spendinesses. Particularly good to be able to knock some Christmas spends off the list. Are certain family members not getting a card this year? Or will this be the last year and you sign them 'best, Blackcats and 'what a d!!!''?!
Honestly, that Weller, what a diva!
I fully smirked at every mention in your post of roger 😁
