Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!

Thank you all so much for your good wishes - so kind of you all and very much appreciated.
so we are away in Spain enjoying beautiful sunshine, swimming in the sea and tapas - though the tapas isn't at the same time as the swimming.  The family dynamics are as expected but we are managing to keep a degree of control over the expectations that we will pay for everything for everyone every day.  In fact we are now back in our hotel room listening to music with a cup of tea - what a wild retiree I am 😇
Its a very strange feeling knowing that I won't be going back to work after the holiday - strange in a good way, just realising that I've actually done it.
the holiday is a good way to celebrate and re-energise.
@PennysIntoPounds - the Tiffany necklace is enjoying the holiday too having been lost/forgotten for so long.
  • Ooh lovely, enjoy the rest of your Spain trip. Glad you're on it with managing family spendy expectations!
Completely imagining the Tiffany necklace enjoying the holiday with its own cocktail on its own sun lounger, eyeing up the other fit jewellery parading past 😂
