Just jumping in here. I am also thinking about creating a website. Can someone point me to useful beginner’s guidance on the stuff I need to learn? I have done html in the past but suspect I need to learn a whole lot more.
  • I'm not pointing my domain to my weebly site as to do this I have to pay and I don't want to pay. I would rather just keep my weebly site as it is then pay a yearly or monthly subscription. I am just trying to see if redirecting my host site to which my domain is parked at is possible. If it's not possible then fine I will leave it.

You can definitely do web forwarding, which your domain provider should offer for free (most do), but probably not the best for SEO (I'm not an seo expert)
  • So it turns out Netcetera who my domain is with require you to sign up to a paying plan to be able to forward to a website

Transfer domain to 123, they allow free forwarding https://www.123-reg.co.uk/

I don't understand this, as Netcetera say they do free DNS and free forwarding. Maybe it's worth contacting their tech support?

If you can use forwarding, you just need to point your domain at your Weebly URL (and this will be done on the Netcetera control panel).

OR If you want to use 000WebHost in the middle, you need to point your domain DNS at 000WebHost, wait for it to propagate, and then use 000WebHost forwarding to point to Weebly.

If you want to learn how to create webpages, then W3Schools is an excellent reference that is not bogged down with commercial baggage.

    https://www.w3schools.com/

As a minimum for creating basic websites you need HTML, CSS and Javascript.

If you just want a nice website, then use a site builder.
