Well, we'll definitely know if we can survive marriage if we survive what's coming! Hahahaha!0

Have you adjusted your budget and your meal plan? You are so organised I bet that you have. Will your son have school work set remotely?0
-
I've adjusted budget but meal plan is tricky as I never know what we can get.
My son is getting work through google classroom and we're getting weekly phone calls. The school has said any work is a bonus as we can do lots of other learning and enrichment and they'll send us ideas and stuff.
The cello teacher is happy to continue lessons from her home (in the village) and we'll keep each other updated of any health concerns etc.
So at the moment the budget is looking ok, which is a relief.
I have officially been told I'm a key worker, but the boyfriend's coming, and my parents will be back at some point!
Work has also said if we have to be isolated the first 14 days will be paid in full and anything on top of that will be statutory sick pay, which is super nice of them.0 -
It's good that you are reassured. Agree that meal plans are dependent on supplies but I'm sure you will juggle supplies and finances very well. Having key worker status could be helpful at some stage and recognises the important work you do in society.0

Ah student days got me ready for this. I'm a dab hand at fridge surprise
and I have a comprehensive spice rack and cupboard.
I did joke that I am key to the functioning of society
So! Today we're cleaning up the house, and pruning the hedge if it's not too windy, that might have to wait until tomorrow. Looking like a spend free day.
I did have a couple of spends yesterday getting wrapping paper (son's birthday on Tuesday), wash pods, we're running low, ham and milk, again, running low/out and I ordered a stack of books from theb00kpeople. Sadly, they're going out of business. I remember being excited for their little booklet coming through the post when I was a kid and I'd circle loads of books before mum got a chance to look. Anyway, I placed an order and I got an extra 30% off for ordering over £30 worth of stuff. I have been told that it might take up to 7 weeks to get here though. Thankfully my son has lots of books in the meantime including one he brought from school... "The diary of a wimpy kid: cabin fever" I laughed so much and he didn't get the irony. Anyway, the books will pop out of the fun/misc pot.0 -
Scooped up some beautiful smelling daffodils from mum's garden (there are so many and they're now sprouting all down the hedgerow). A friend dropped off some extra books she'd orderedbby accident for my son.
We did some jobs at mum and dad's. My son and I played a few rounds of boggle. We rescued some fornicating frogs - in a tiled pond they'd not get back out of. And I made a chicken cooked yesterday serve all 3 of us for tea yesterday and today and lunch today. There's a little left over for my packed lunch tomorrow and some of today's dinner left for the boyfriend's lunch too. It's a huge win as the boyfriend will eat an entire chicken on his own. Poor guy I'm endlessly sneaking vegetables into everything.
Fingers crossed my shopping should arrive tomorrow. We'll wait and see what comes!0 -
Lucky frogs to be rescued - they clearly hadn't thought through the consequences of their spring passion! 😍. Chicken is great for stretching to multiple meals and everyone loves it.I used to buy from the book people for my children - sorry to hear that they are closing.0

Thanks Blackcats.
Well I'm still at work. But the doors are locked. I need to pop a notice to say we're open, but unable to allow anyone in the office.
We had some items missing from our order, but I'd rather make do. No butter, but we have unsalted and salt so... Yeah, it'll do for now.0
