Yes, but that bit goes without saying...

LOL at the thought of trying to put something like this on my (now sadly deceased) cat.

The video in the link is hilarious.
    First clip the cat's claws.
Apply adhesive to the 'soft claw'.
Stick the 'soft claw' onto the cat's clipped claws.

No wonder they show a cartoon cat rather than the real thing. LOL
    🤣
reminds me of the time a vet suggested a shampoo as an option for my cat’s skin condition... 😱🤷🏻‍♀️
Ermmm... 🤔 how’s that supposed to work then? 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣  He plainly was not a cat owner 🤦🏻‍♀️
(We decided on a spray in the end, my old boy didn’t like it much but it worked, and I retained the skin on my arms and face)

Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

I did try to give my cat a bath when he came home with engine oil all down one side of his body.
    Big mistake.
    Big.
    Huge.

I found it can take longer to remove the gloss from a fat cat than it does to paint the door and frame, I had left the door wide open but she decided to rub up against the frame 🐾🐾

With carpets - avoid if you can those with a wool content - wool fibres adhere to cat hair - can cause the cat to react to scratching it. Best behaviour modifier I found was an indoor plant sprayer - when the cat does something wrong - spray - preferably without the cat being aware you are doing it. If you do change your lounge suite - I recommend the material used is micro-fibre - claws don't grip or sink in. If you can, play with them to tire them out, less likely to scratch if knackered.

My cat used to sleep on the back of a chair (part of a 3 piece suite) in the window.
When we changed to a leather suite, he clearly didn't like the smell and never tried to get on it.

I have 3 cats, place scratching posts across the house. Also scratching boards, B&M do them for £1.99. Cats don’t understand being shouted at and it doesn’t teach them. When mine started scratching furniture, I would pick them up and take them to the scratch post. It took a while but eventually they stopped. They do still occasionally scratch the carpet but mainly  just the scratching posts now.
