  • Ah my cat was skrating at the front door (right by one of her largest scratching posts) and miawing tonight at the front door as I put key in - ..her food bowl needed refilling.

She's scratched dining seat pads to death but they can be replaced.

Don't think you can tell a cat of.
  • There is a product called Feliscratch that is designed to encourage your cat/s to use a particular area or post for scratching

Also, depending on your cats personal preferences, they may prefer carpet to the sisal or cardboard that most commercial cat scratching aids are made from. My own Siamese has been encouraged to use home made carpet scratchers - one is a board stood at an angle to the wall. Another is a cut off of garden sleeper covered with a couple of carpet sample squares. Both are saving my stair carpet from further damage :)

  • If possible, close all the room so they don't destroy everything when you're not around, of course make sure they do have enough space. This one has saved my sofa, haha.
  • Does anybody know about those plastic rubber things you put on cat's nails so they don't scratch?

also kept our in the utility where there wasn't anything to damage while we were out until she had begun to learn what we wanted.
Cats aren't usually that bothered about what their owners want! That's part of their charm.

Do you have a link to this product?
Are you based in the UK?
LOL at the thought of trying to put something like this on my (now sadly deceased) cat.

I was watching an old episode of My Cat From Hell and the owner got them put on their cat.   The episode was from 2012 and of course the US, never heard of them here and not sure but a vet might need to put them on?

The video in the link is hilarious.
    First clip the cat's claws.
Apply adhesive to the 'soft claw'.
Stick the 'soft claw' onto the cat's clipped claws.

No wonder they show a cartoon cat rather than the real thing. LOL
