  • Are you aware you may have a long wait to go to Tribunal?
If you have not already done so, could you provide additional medical evidence to support your claim?
Have you studied the criteria for getting the Enhanced Mobility award? I am only asking as you say you are new to all this.

Yes, indeed backlogs are huge in most areas and some are waiting as long as 1 year for a hearing date.
  • Hi, thanks for more advice, I am aware that It may take some time to go to the Tribunal, but I will just have to go
through with it and be patient because I have no other option. They failed me on my mobility knowing that my mobility is my main issue. This is all new territory for me, I used to work all day on my feet sling hairdressing until my condition has worsened. Lucky for me though I have great family members who are helping me through this Tribunal because they have had experience, if I wish to seek anymore advice I will do so here because you all have been incredibly helpful, thanks so much once again for everything and sorry that it wasn’t always understood haha it’s just a little confusing when you have never had to do this before.

If you are appealing to tribunal, I would see if you and the family members who are supporting you can get help from your local advice agency / CAB.

You will find this guide helpful:

On what grounds does your family think the mobility award should have been enhanced?

Hello, I not too long ago started a Claim for PIP, I was awarded the “standard” rate for both Living & Mobility, for the time being I had to accept it, but A Mandatory Reconsideration went in as soon as I got my PIP report back..10 weeks later now I have been enhanced on the living side of PIP, but they still will not award me the enhanced mobility, this is fine as I will Appeal them further to Tribunal, however my query is will I still be backdated from the original decision they made, to the one they have made now? They never make these things easy, nor explain in much detail, any helps greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you are contesting the original claim you should have it backdated to the first payment .
Someone please tell me what money is

Sorry but this isn't correct in this case. As i previously advised many times through out the thread, because it's a first time PIP claim this the difference is between standard and Enhanced is backdated to the date they rang to start the claim.

Also to point out that if you do go to tribunal that they will look at the whole award already awarded & the decision could be changed.

I'm pretty certain they warn you if they're considering it, and give the option whether to proceed with the tribunal or accept the existing decision.

This thread has already had enough confusion; I'm not sure throwing this unlikely scenario into the mix is helpful to the OP.

Helpful or not it needs to be pointed out & highlighted so there is no confusion about what could happen however unlikely.

Yes, they do warn you so there's actually no risk in taking it to Tribunal.

The confusion was only caused because the OP didn't make the question clear enough and as i pointed out, without all the correct information it's impossible to give the correct advice.
