Do you get a backpayment after your MR from PIP?

Hello, I not too long ago started a Claim for PIP, I was awarded the “standard” rate for both Living & Mobility, for the time being I had to accept it, but A Mandatory Reconsideration went in as soon as I got my PIP report back..10 weeks later now I have been enhanced on the living side of PIP, but they still will not award me the enhanced mobility, this is fine as I will Appeal them further to Tribunal, however my query is will I still be backdated from the original decision they made, to the one they have made now? They never make these things easy, nor explain in much detail, any helps greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you transferred from DLA then it will be from the start of your PIP award.0 -
Hi, I’ve not been awarded DLA ever really, When I started my claim i literally was just awarded the PIP, it was only until yesterday I got a decision that they will be enhancing the living side of it slightly, I am just curious as to if I will be getting back paid from their original decision which was in September0

If it's a review of an existing claim then you'll receive the difference from the date the decision was made.0 -
Ah, thank you so kindly! It is not a review, it was simply their decision after my MR. I am hoping to receive the backpayment soon, but if not I’ll seek more advice, once again, thanks so much!!0

I already answered your question correctly because of my knowledge in the benefit system. As previously advised, because this was a first PIP claim and you weren't transferring from DLA then you'll receive backdated money from the date you rang to start your claim and this will be the difference between standard and Enhanced daily living, which is £28.95 per week owed.
The reason you'll receive the difference between the 2 is because you were already claiming Standard daily living and you should have already received backdated money when the original decision was made, which would have been backdated to the date you rang to start your claim.0 -
i’m honestly not being rude and i’m really sorry if it has come across that way, i just generally don’t quite understand what you are saying, to be fair i am a disabled young person who has never really had experience with the benefit system and i am just wondering if i will be backdated after seems as though they have changed their minds to enhance my daily living due to my MR. once again though i never meant to come across rude, if i’m being honest i didn’t expect anyone to get so deep into the topic about dla when i never even mentioned it, i just expected to receive an answer of “yes or no” for receiving a backpayment AFTER a mandatory reconsideration0

i was literally just expecting a yes or no answer sometimes you can’t just explain these things the way you do to people and expect them to understand what you are saying, not everyone is as smart as you🥺0

To put it in a simpler text, you'll receive £28.95 per week backdated to the date you first rang to start your claim.0
