Wow, this forum moves so fast.

I have been lucky to have a week off. I went to Brussels with DH and had a great time mooching. Had to laugh though. A lovely Aarbnb right in the red light district. It was OK, I am too old and grey to be accosted.

While off I have been having a massive sort out along with pacing rest days, I have deep cleaned the en suite toilet, the main bedroom and kitchen. I pulled all the storage from under the bed and reduced it down. My craft room got sorted but not much chucked out. We cleard the box room for redecoration as DD is going in there when she comes back from uni.

Also cleared loads downstairs. A lot of rubbish and 4 bags to the CS. more to go.

Did a massive sort out of and filing of the paperwork mountain, This has been weighing on me for some time. i came to a full stop in July with my sister's estate and so needed to get back to it, which I have restarted, Did a load of financial sorting. This 'easy' moving of bank accounts has not been so smooth and jumping through the hoops to earn the 'reward' has been a right royal PitA.

Took a bag of books to work and gave back some clothing to various people.

S0oo all good. I had four sides of stuff in my notebook to sort and am now down to two. 6/50 bags gone and much more where that came from plus I am mentally a lot lighter.

    Hello all.

I've not done too much really as I'm struggling health-wise at the moment and on top of it DS has had a sickness bug (oh the washing mountain).

I'm currently working through the laundry and trying to sort out the upstairs but it's a bit of work then resting for a while. It's getting very frustrating, I just want it done. I'm going to try and complete the surface declutter in the bedroom today which will make me feel better.

    Off I go..

  • Slow progress again but .....
    3. Four items sold on Ebay sent to buyers
4-5. Two sports kits bags returned to their storage next to the courts after cleaning out at Christmas.
    6. Another 200 plus emails dealt with and deleted.
    7. Big pile of magazines read and recycled.
    8. Sink unblocked …. finally!
  • Not much to report here -

1 x pair old, perished Hunter wellies - chucked
1 x Price's church candle (split vertically through centre) - ditto
    Rotted garden cushion - ditto
    3 x dead orchids (I'm hopeless with houseplants :o) - compost heap
1 x gifted chopping board - car boot sale box
3 x gifted duplicate books - charity shop
Ugly, damaged bathroom mirror (left by previous owners) - tip

Hopefully we'll be stripping out more of the hideous bathroom at the weekend so there'll be more clutter to go!

  • I did a quick sort this morning before work and now have a plastic bag full of sad tea towels and fabric tote bags ready to go out for fabric recycling. The totes are ones that I have acquired for free over the last few years and they are smaller than I like to use.
Last night while waiting for dinner to cook I tackled my pile of Tesco and Waitrose magazines and cut out the recipes I’d like to try. The magazines are in the recycling bin and the now MUCH smaller pile of recipes I’ll put in my cooking folder.

Wednesday has been a mostly dry day - not as bitterly cold as the last 2 days :j I slept sitting up on the sofa last night :o so am looking forward to my acupuncture & massage ;) DSis woke up late barely able to move due to leg cramp  Better after a warm bath. I also did a couple more loads of washing & drying - just 2 loads of washing left to do
Arrived at the Chinese Clinic on time - just :p My acupuncture was very relaxing but the massage was quite deep as I had rather a lot of knots again  DSis was a bit battered after her cupping & still a bit stiff legged :(. Walked slowly :rotfl: to the sm & picked up meat & vegetables for the next few nights’ dinners + a few bits & pieces. Caught bus home but I got off at P.O. to send large letter to Germany.
The wm is running with DSis’s last load :T Meanwhile I have emptied & sorted the airing cupboard - 2 bath towels, a duvet cover & 2 pillowcases into CS bag. I was on a roll so started on my wardrobe - a pair of ancient walking boots, a pair of salmon pink suede shoes & matching party bag, long black cardigan & a large black handbag into CS bag. Now I just have to find a Charity Shop :rotfl: I also sorted out 2 of the 5 wardrobe shelves :T Will finish the other shelves tomorrow ;)

Dinner will be pork steaks, boiled potatoes & green beans.

    42 Cardboard packaging - Recycled
43 - 53 Two bath towels, duvet cover, 2 pillowcases, walking boots, suede shoes, large black handbag, party handbag, long cardigan + a summer dress from DSis - CS bag

Cheerleading to follow in a 2nd post ;) as I really should cook dinner ;)

    See you all later :rotfl:

Little one was complaining the rabbit chews all her toys when he comes in so I told her to put them away. Unfortunately, we have no room in the toy drawers so she was happy to get rid of a ton of items once he destroyed some of her favourite toys.

Half to charity shop and half straight into the bin. Off to update signature. x

Hi ladies, love reading all your decluttering tales. Nothing much needs doing here as we had a jolly good clear out 6 years ago when we downsized. If you have textiles to recycle then please consider your local fire station. https://www.firefighterscharity.org.uk/get-involved/recycle-your-textiles
    Thanks
