Election impact on investments

  • The thing is that people get more right wing the more wealth they acquire . Unwilling to have an income of £35,000 if they can squeeze the less fortunate and have one of £36000.

This is based on a concept that the economy is a fixed size pie which can be divided in different ways but can’t be increased. This concept drives the politics of envy. The Bolsheviks fought to ensure that “there won’t be any rich people”. They succeeded. Everyone was dirt poor. This concept is based on economic ignorance,

Also, I completely disagree that more wealth = more “right wing” (whatever that means).

We are all going to have our own views and I wouldn’t normally bother expressing mine . Only doing so because I am very angry over remarks from my own ( Tory) MP that amount to those in this constituency that didn’t vote for me don’t count and are no concern of mine ! Don’t think it works like that .
I have a lucky life - retired early with a reasonable pension, own property and have savings and investments.
Never a Tory never will be . I don’t need a luxury tour of India , expensive clothes and jewellery what I need is health and social care , for the young people in my pretty but deprived town to have access to good education, to well paying jobs . Secure homes There to be public transport so we can move around our semi rural area.

My children work hard . They don’t earn enough to buy houses probably never will. They don’t have final salary pensions .
So they are far less likely than my generation to move politically to the right so I can’t necessarily agree that the conservatives will remain in power for decades to come.
I hope when I leave this world I am leaving a kinder and more caring one than it is today.
Of course they can't afford a home, whilst your home was no doubt built on land that was once fields you or others will no doubt be up in arms should any more green land be offered up for housing.

And for whatever reason the population has been increasing so there are fewer homes per person to go round hence higher prices to ration what there is amongst all those who want one.
    I think....
