Different bits of Watford are easier to different London stations.
Yeah, know it's pretty sprawling and there are several bits to it and stations, but if they're not living there yet and want to, they can just rent near the one that's on the tube :) Or at least get a bus that end to the tube station rather than in London from Euston to Liv St.

Or they could just walk the couple of hundred metres from Euston to Euston Square, and get on the Met/District/Circle to Liv there...

Think they were trying to avoid tubes in order to get the cheaper option of a bus.

But any extras on top of one journey will add £££. The Highams Park option without Zone 1 was only £34pw and only just over £25 from Walthamstow. The OP really should stick to one journey if poss if their budget is that tight.

OP's Watford is Watford Junction. Watford tube is half an hour away (unless cycling).

They've not been back to clarify so we can only presume. They won't live at Watford Junction station, so could be 15 or so mins' walk in any direction from Watford Junction, making it more than 30 mins, or less

Try Wembley Park. Trains from there go straight to Liverpool Street Station. Wembley Park is being regenerated and lots of new flats are being built.
  • As always I love the sarcasm and the wit within the response.

    Thank you all.

Looking through Trainline it boasted a 20 direct train link to Euston. ( FYI I had no idea Euston was basically a mining field, so apologies) I do agree with the individual who suggested I use one form of public transport; which would cut out the faffing!

So Hammersmith, chelmsford and anything east is the best options from the responses. I don’t mind walking 20 odd minutes ( my offices are in the 5mins from Liverpool Street)

I must say my budget is £800 for a room in London. If I pay that I’d rather not have any transport costs!

If outer landing my budget is £550-650 for a room. Then open to £200-300 on travel monthly. (Ideally on the 200s)

Yes I would have found somewhere near Watford junction! ( come on people! Great minds like yourselves should know better)

Again this is all very helpful. Hope I have expanded enough ( probably not )

    Here’s to 5pm!

    P.s
Some one mentioned because Id be working Monday to Friday I wouldn’t spend much time in my room ( those lovely evenings watching Netflix in a room with asbestos and damp? Not a chance! Rather break the bank) slight exaggeration but you get my drift.

    Happy Tuesday

2.9 miles according to Google. I'd certainly walk that in under an hour, I'll accept that not everyone will.

Not sure how well you know London, but there are some junctions where you have to wait a while to cross the road and you cannot risk jumping the lights (it’s too busy).
The streetS are packed with walkers.
It can be very difficult to overtake slower people (those on their phones walk more slowly) simply because of the amount of foot traffic.

It not like walking 3 miles in the country.
I know I walk slightly faster than google, but if it’s very busy (at rush hour) it’s not always possible to go at the pace you want and there sometimes is nothing you can do about it.

Why Watford? I think the OP would be better off looking for somewhere in east or north east London so they can travel directly to Liverpool Street.

My point was though, surely Watford would be better (if you have to go out that way) as it would be one journey on the tube. (I wasn't suggesting you would be half hour from any station.) Watford Junction would surely be the via Euston route.
