If you had to choose either of these which would you go for?

The 43 inch Samsung or the 49 inch Bush?

I cannot decide

or

or any other TV you can recommend for similar price?
thanks:)

It's a bit apples to oranges.

One is top tier brand, the other is ancient UK brand revived to peddle cheap Chinese crap.

One is 4K the other 1080p

The only common factor is the price.

For TVs I recommend using Richer sound or John Lewis for the 5/6 years warranty, rather than Argos. Plenty of options in under £300 for 40-49" including the Samsung you mentioned:

    Edit:
I should have elaborated. If the pick is between the just these 2 I would strongly recommend the Samsung, both because of the brand and because of the 4K display. Even though there isn't that much 4K content out there, most TVs do a decent job in upscaling 1080p to 4k. Especially when we are talking about 49"+ sizes FullHD is simply not up to scratch and 4K displays are like £50 more, it's a no-brainer.

If buying a new TV I would only buy an UHD / 4K TV
1080 is so out of date

WAtch out for cheap LG TVs, some of them are fake UHD using RGBW

The Samsung will be better if you're a brand snob.
The Bush is bigger screen wise, but you'll only be able to buy it from Argos (as the company is owned by Sainsbury's who also own Argos), and because of that it may be seen as a cheap tatty revue. It also isn't 4k compatible, whereas the Samsung is if that's a deal breaker for you.

However I must admit I can't remember the last time I had anything that went faulty from an Argos own brand not as a result of something I'd done to it...

Argos catalogue number 847/7116 is a 50" TV cheaper than the Bush that will give you the 4k if you need that.

No problem, just buy a plug in streamer https://www.roku.com/en-gb/ and you can have the lot, including any that may turn up later

This shouldn't be your deciding factor. You can get all the smart functions and apps with a £20-30 Amazon fire stick / NowTV box / Roku. And it would be future proof too, unlike most low end TVs that won't get updates after 1-2 years.

If anything at that price point I would recommend looking for a dumb TV and add one of the above mentioned sticks/boxes, as the hardware and performance of the build-in TV "smart" is likely to be abysmal (if the old 32" Sony in the kids room is anything to go by)
