Hope you keep posting regardless. I think where I got back into debt in the past is partly I saw it as job done and then slipped back into old ways when outside MSE - that's why I switched track and started a new diary.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Happy New Year everyone
I can't believe I am starting 2022 debt free I am so pleased about that! Originally I was going to have the debt until 2024
then I managed to jig things about about and get a lower interest loan and bring the date to August 2023 hence the title of this diary. So to bring it forward all the way to December 2021 I am just delighted!I kind of want to make some financial goals for myself now, to keep me on track with everything. Going to have a think of what will be the best way to go about it.Definitely want to be sensible and not go down the route of taking out any loans or credit cards but also want to be a little less strict in the budgeting department than I've had to be for the last almost 4 years. So it's just finding that balance.Poppy19-02-18 Total Debt £30,322

Happy New Year Poppy, rolling into 2022 debt free whoop whoop. Well done on an amazing achievement last year. I have really struggled to find balance from being ultra-strict to not caring within a month of been out of debt (oops), but this year I am determined to put good solid foundations in place. Here is to 2022.Days to Orlando: 462- ☀️🎢2

It's really really tricky finding the balance isn't it? I feel a little nervous if I'm honest. I had gotten a little lazy with my spending tracker in the last few months because I was so strict I barely spent anything on anything other than essentials and debt repayments so didn't really need to track. I think I'll go back to using the spending tracker and recording everything for a while until I feel comfortable with my new budget.
Any tips?Poppy19-02-18 Total Debt £30,322
