This may shed a bit more light in there plans.

"During 2020, TSB will close 82 branches, reducing its branch network from 540 to 454."
540 - 82 = 454. If computed on a TSB calculator :rotfl:

You didn't reed the whole piece, did you.In November 2019, TSB has 540 branches. TSB had already announced four closures before the end of 2019 and will be closing 82 branches in 2020. At the end of 2020, TSB will have 454 branches.
Sorry colsten you are normally sharper than me .0 -

She.
She can also read. I quoted the exact words from the TSB presser (During 2020, TSB will close 82 branches, reducing its branch network from 540 to 454)
It reminds me a bit of the "We will have 50,000 more nurses" debate :rotfl:0 -

It's a case of who will blink 1st and will the regulator stand for it.
Be a commercial decision. Regulators aren't going to object. There's no right to free banking. The longer interest rates remain at current levels the greater the squeeze will be on this part of consumer banking.0 -

Many thanks for that link. Have not seen it 'live' on the internet banking site yet, and I accessed that yesterday. If that information eventually leads to the conditions in the Daily Wail article, I will switch. Only a good local branch* the 3% on the Classic account and the 2% on the Monthly Saver, keeps me with TSB for now. There are several account holders in our family who feel the same.
*The Louth branch is not listed for closure. Yet...:(I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

I would hazard a guess the majority of TSB customers are only tolerating TSB due to their market leading rate. They are closing branches faster than anyone else and their IT systems... well... enough said. I would be shocked if TSB were to start offering more attractive rewards and benefits than others already doing this who have far greater buying power case in point trying to compete against Lloyds cinema tickets. TSB should keep it simple and focus on interest rate of current and regular savings and fix their IT. I truly believe scrapping interest would be their end.0
