#86 here. Not many over payments made so far this year, but I feel my hand has been forced a bit as I was hoping to get to 80% LTV come October when we can remortgage. This was all planned for and in hand, but now I'm anticipating prices reducing so it's potentially a moving target. I'm fortunate that we're both in secure jobs, therefore £2,733.50 overpaid this month with the contents of my regular saver to come in a week or so when it matures. Finally bought a homeStarting mortgage £289,500 31.01.19 - Current outstanding £189,497.12Overpayments since 27.03.19: £53,964.80Moving fund so far £2500 - Premium bonds £9,5003

Hello Julicorn,
I'm a newbie, please can you allocate me a number? Many thanks in advance.
I have been clearing my husbands credit cards and switching to my 0% cards for the last year and will be cleared by this December. I have become little bored of that....so my/our new challenge is overpaying our mortgage. I have started small so just added £42 onto the direct debit and have not missed the extra money. Therefore I have paid £42 each month since February, March & April £126.00 in total. I have also just discovered that I can send an extra over-payment so have sent and extra £5 to make sure it works...it will appear tomorrow, hopefully! Once I know this works I will then send more. I have sat calculating all day, so will look to overpay by £1775.00 spread over till December. Not a large amount I know, I just need to get rid the credit cards as a priority!
Mortgage as of today £109,115.14 My mortgage runs Mid April to Mid April. My deal is with Halifax @2.39% fixed repayment to April 2023.
Good luck everyone and stay safe!3 -

hi,
overpayment for April made of £47.36.
total for year so far is now £1299.45. Hoping to add more on pay day but that will depend on cash flow during lockdown. I feel very fortunate to be in a job still getting paid and able to work from home. After getting used to living off one wage hubs started a new job and got paid. I intend to use some of his wage towards mortgage as no holidays this year.
thanks3 -

Hi all, I hope you are all doing okay. I need to have a read through the messages. So I found a little extra this month and have just made a small OP of £37.33, taking my April total to £139.94. The plan is still to divert most of my money to my emergency fund as my company has started to furlough people, thankfully I am still working myself at the moment, but I wouldn't be surprised if that changes.
